The purpose of this contract is to reactivate the tourism sector, one of the hardest hit by the crisis, by disseminating promotional campaigns, activities and events that take place in the municipality and are capable of attracting visitors and tourists to MurciaThe Governing Board has approved the "Service consisting of the planning, purchase and evaluation of advertising spaces in the media and advertising media to promote the tourist resources of the municipality of Murcia", whose initial duration will be 24 months , and can be extended for a maximum period of one year.The base budget for the tender amounts to 1,089,000 euros for the two annual payments, in the event of an extension, the amount would rise to 1,350,000 euros.This is the first contract of these characteristics that is approved by the local government, an instrument that will allow working in communication for the tourism promotion of the municipality in order to recover employment.This proposal has been raised at the request of the Department of Employment, Economic Promotion and Tourism, led by the mayor Pedro García Rex, with the aim of reactivating the tourism sector and promoting the recovery of the sectors most affected by the current situation, hard hit due to the crisis, through the dissemination of various promotional campaigns, activities and events that take place in the municipality, capable of attracting visitors and tourists to Murcia, reactivating economic activity in Murcia.This action is part of the measures contemplated in the municipality's Economic and Social Reactivation Plan - approved unanimously in the extraordinary plenary session last June - for the recovery and revitalization of tourism in Murcia after the adverse effects caused by the crisis of the Covid-19.
