| For this, a series of workshops for the recovery and transformation of furniture will be organized, according to the art and styles of each one of the participating cultures | The Artillery Barracks yesterday hosted the start of a new project of Cultural Reactives based on the artistic recovery of waste objects that integrates different cultural groups of the Barrio del CarmenThe initiative is called MezclArte and it is a citizen laboratory, a meeting point for residents, a new production and consumption model designed to extend the life of products and an artistic manifestation applied to everyday life.The project has begun with the meeting of the various cultural groups integrated in the Barrio del Carmen, in which the objective has been to investigate their decorative arts, symbols and domestic furnishings, removing stereotypes and knowing first-hand their customs, traditions and everyday life.The first approach has had the collaboration of the Association of Ukrainians of the Region of Murcia; Ivoirien Association of Murcia (Ivory Coast); Aye Social Culture; Bolivian Roots Association; Sumac Tushuy folk dance group from Ecuador; Association for development and cultural integration; and the World Association of Cultures.To this end, a series of furniture recovery and transformation workshops will be organized, according to the art and styles of each of the participating cultures.
The final result of these workshops can be seen in a future exhibition where all the work done will be shown.MezclArte is a multicultural research and production action integrated into Rscencias, a project based on the recovery and artistic transformation of furniture and scrap objects following the principles of the circular economy.This project is signed by entreTrastos Restauración Alternativa, a resident group in the Creative Production Pavilions of the Artillery BarracksThis is how another of the #ReactivosCulturales projects starts, the program created to stimulate the fabric of the Murcian cultural network in times of the Covid.
This plan has had a great success of participation, both professional and public, which gives meaning to the fact that culture has been considered an essential asset in the Region of Murcia.
An initiative that reaffirms the commitment to culture as a sector that generates wealth, innovation, creativity and, most importantly at this time, social cohesion.The Rscencias project's philosophy is the circular economy that involves sharing, renting, reusing, repairing, renewing and recycling existing materials and products as many times as possible to create added value.
In addition, it seeks to implement activities designed for the involvement of the neighborhood fabric, thus becoming a citizen laboratory.
