The flu vaccination campaign begins, which will administer 75,000 doses throughout the municipality (13/10/2020)

| The City Council has set up a new vaccination point in the old Statistics building, located in the Garden of La Pólvora | The Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, this morning visited the new flu vaccination point set up in La Pólvora –in the old Statistics building–, where he reported on the start of the anti-flu campaign and recalled that “this year the Service of Vaccination of the City Council is going to administer some 75,000 doses throughout the municipality ”.In this context, the City Council, following the instructions of the Ministry of Health, has advanced the vaccination campaign by more than 10 days - until now, it started between October 25 and 28 -.Prior appointment via internet or by phoneTo reach all vulnerable groups, the City Council has also expanded the Vaccination Service, making available a new consultation, located in the Jardín de la Pólvora, which is added to the one in the Precious Square, guaranteeing its application.To access the queries, and in order to avoid crowds, it is necessary to request an appointment through the website of the Murcia City Council, in the direct link https://www.murcia.es/web/portal/cita -previa / citapreviaurb /, by putting in the Google search bar Murcia City Council or by calling the telephone line 968 358 605.It is a campaign that is aimed especially at people over 60, chronically ill under 60 and pregnant women, as well as health workers, caregivers of the elderly and chronically ill, and workers of essential services - Firefighters, Police , etc.

-.From 50,000 to 75,000 doses in the municipalityThanks to the installation of the new point against the flu in the Jardín de la Pólvora, the campaign is expected to administer about 8,000 doses in Murcia –including the one in the Precious Square–, and about 75,000 throughout the municipality.Last year, 3,600 doses were administered in the Precious Square and, in total, between 45,000 and 50,000 in the municipality.

From the City Council, the Health Service highlights the importance of reaching wide coverage to avoid the effect of confusion between seasonal flu symptoms and those of the coronavirus, in addition to the protection offered by the vaccine against influenza viruses.Hours of La Pólvora and Plaza PreciosaThe Gunpowder Garden consultation is only for flu and pneumococci in adults.

Its hours are from 8.30 a.m.

to 2.30 p.m.

and from 5 p.m.

to 8 p.m.For its part, the Plaza Preciosa consultation is for flu and other adult vaccines, from 8.30 to 14.30 hours.

All children's vaccines will also be administered at this point, including the flu vaccine, from 5:00 p.m.

to 8:00 p.m.
