The municipal theaters of Murcia recover their Dramatic Reading Club with a special session dedicated to ´Don Juan Tenorio´ (13/10/2020)

| Pre-registration can be done through a digital form until next Thursday and the sessions, two face-to-face and one virtual, will take place next October 27 | November is approaching and, as every year, the municipal theaters of Murcia recover the figure of Don Juan Tenorio.

This 2020, there will be no performances at the Romea Theater by the Cecilio Pineda Company, but this story of gambling and misdeeds, of love, repentance and redemption, will continue to be present, and in which there are no shortage of mysteries and ghosts.

It will be through a special session of the Dramatic Reading Club of the Romea, Circo Murcia and Bernal theaters that will take place on October 27.During the past season, the Dramatic Reading Club had to be suspended due to the health alert due to COVID-19, but with the beginning of the new programming, this reference activity of municipal theaters that has been held for four years is recovered and that has a great reception.

In addition, new readings will be announced in the coming days and another call will be opened to participate in them. This year three groups will be formed again in the Dramatic Reading Club: two of them, at 12 and 18 hours, will be face-to-face and there will be a maximum of 12 attendees and the third, at 20 hours, will be virtual (through of the Zoom platform) and up to 25 people can participate.

In the case of face-to-face sessions, the use of a mask will be mandatory at all times and they will be held in compliance with all safety and hygiene measures, maintaining the distance between the attendees.Pre-registration to participate in the Club will be carried out this year digitally through a form that can be found on the websites of the Romea Theater, the Circo Murcia Theater, the Bernal Theater and the Murcia City Council, and will also be available all the information in the social networks of the scenic spaces.

Applications can be delivered until next Thursday, October 15 and, in the event that the number of applications exceeds the number of places, a draw will be held. The text will be sent to the participants via email on the 20th so that it can be read before the celebration of the gathering, by Ángel Salcedo, which will take place on Tuesday, October 27 at the times already specified: 12, 18 and 20 hours.

To hold the sessions, there must be a minimum attendance of 8 people in the face-to-face meetings and 15 people in the virtual one.

Otherwise, it will be suspended. The play 'Don Juan Tenorio', written by José Zorrilla in 1844, is linked to our culture and, in a very special way, to the Romea Theater.

It is one of the essential texts of classical dramatic literature that is traditionally performed on stages around the All Saints holiday, on November 1.

In the case of the Romea Theater, the Cecilio Pineda Company has been representing this text for decades.

Precisely last year 2019 the 30th anniversary of these performances was celebrated, which will return to Romea in 2021.
