More than 150 new points of light will make the streets of Vistalegre safer for traffic and pedestrians (08/10/2020)

| The City Council installs 5,000 led streetlights in Murcia in the last year, which will mean a saving of 3.4 million euros and will avoid the emission of 12 million kilos of CO2 | The Deputy Mayor for Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, José Guillén, visited the Vistalegre neighborhood this morning for the work to improve public lighting that is being carried out.These works are also being carried out in different streets and districts of the municipality of Murcia, within the Murcia Smart City and Murcia Aire Limpio strategy that advocates in this case to favor the improvement of the environment, visibility and safety of the area and contribute to improve the quality of the residents of the municipality.With these more than 150 new points of light, 280,000 kilos of CO2 will no longer be emitted into the atmosphere during the entire useful life of these luminaires.

With an energy consumption saving of 580,000 Kwh and an economic saving of 81,000 euros."These improvements in districts and neighborhoods make it possible to comply with the commitments made by the City Council to curb climate change, but they are also carried out with the safety of the residents who circulate on the road in mind, providing it with more light.

Thanks to this technology, consumption and the emission of carbon dioxide are reduced, along with other measures, such as Foresta Plan or the Clean Air Strategy ", José Guillén highlighted.These works have been carried out in: Barrio del Progreso, Patiño, Beniaján, Los Dolores, Llano de Brujas, Los Ramos, El Esparragal, Cobatillas, Santo Ángel, El Puntal, Espinardo, El Palmar, Los Garres, La Albatalía, Sangonera La Verde, Corvera, La Murta, Cañada Hermosa, Algezares, Aljucer, La Arboleja, Cabezo de Torres, Puente Tocinos, Guadalupe, Rincón de Seca, La Raya, Puebla de Soto and Monteagudo, among other districts, in addition to the urban area of ??Murcia .
