The City Council joins a Community campaign to promote the cut flower on the occasion of All Saints (07/10/2020)

| The objective of the initiative is to encourage the consumption of this product and at the same time encourage the population to visit the cemetery along October and November to avoid crowds on the November 1 holiday | The City Council joins the campaign to promote the consumption of cut flowers promoted by the Autonomous Community, through the Ministry of Agriculture, in which Murcians are encouraged to go to the cemetery throughout the months of October and November to avoid the crowds on the All Saints festival, which is celebrated on November 1. The councilors of Health and Sports, Felipe Coello, and Commerce, Market and Public Roads, Juan Fernando Hernández, have attended the presentation of this initiative that has been made by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Environment , Víctor Martínez, in the Nuestro Padre Jesús Cemetery, in Espinardo, under the name 'In the Region of Murcia we have as many flowers as there are days to remember you'.“Thousands of people go to the cemetery every year to commemorate their loved ones.

From the consistory we want Murcians to celebrate this day, but with responsibility and with all the security measures ”, Coello stressed.For his part, the mayor Juan Fernando Hernández has pointed out that “from the City Council we are working, together with the municipal health services, to enable a call where we hope that the dispersion of the points of sale will prevail, in such a way that we can avoid agglomerations on such an important day ”.Around 250 million units of cut flower are produced each year in the Region of Murcia.

The campaign 'In the Region of Murcia we have as many flowers as there are days to remember them' aims to remember the great variety of flowers that are produced and marketed in the Region and, at the same time, encourage Murcian to distribute their visits to the cemetery throughout of the next few weeks.
