Municipal services offer a quick and effective response to different incidents caused by wind and rain (02/10/2020)

| Local Police received nearly 70 notices in the afternoon | The coordination between different municipal services -Local Police, Firefighters, Street Cleaning, Transport, Traffic, Public Lighting and Parks and Gardens- has allowed a quick and effective response to the different incidents produced by rain and strong wind, which has reached cause gusts that have exceeded 80 kilometers per hour.Thus, Local Police has received almost 70 notices related to strong gusts of wind such as falling branches in Beniaján, Lobosillo, Barrio del Progreso, Puente Tocinos, Javalí Nuevo, Guadalupe, Sangonera la Verde, Javalí Viejo, Churra, El Palmar, Llano of Bruges and AlqueríasIt has also had to intervene due to the fall of branches in different streets of the urban area such as Floridablanca street, La Fama avenue, Miguel de Cervantes avenue, Ceuta street, Industria street, Torre Álvarez, Juan de Borbón avenue, Santa Teresa street, Intendente street Jorge Palacios, Primo de Rivera, Olof Palme, Rey Don Pedro street, Olma street, Río Mula street, Pastora street, Argolida street and inside the San Andrés school, among other places.The most notable incident has been the fall of a tree on Avenida de La Flota, which has caused damage to the tram catenary, forcing the line to be suppressed and a special device to be activated with wagons bouncing towards Nueva Condomina and Universidades from the stop de Juan XXIII and with its own bus service for the non-operational section.Lines C2, R20 and R17 have also had to modify their usual routes, although service is now restored.Likewise, the wind has bent a 12x2 meter plate in the Sports Palace that has forced the perimeter of this sports facility to be marked.Other incidents in which the Local Police have intervened have been the fall of the perimeter fences of the Chinese Garden, currently under construction, the fall of signs on a vehicle on Our Lady of Belén street, a loose awning in the Plaza Dentistas Murcianos, a fences in the road and unprotected ditch in the Carril de la Condesa, falling rubble in the Cathedral, and loose canvas on a façade of Gran Vía.They have also acted in the fall of roof remains in Obispo Sancho Dávila street, in the fall of rubble from a terrace in La Gloria street, in the dragging of a container affecting a vehicle in the Paseo Florencia, among other interventions.The Fire Fighting and Rescue Service has participated in 91 notices out of 112, prioritizing actions due to the dangerous situation or the impact on traffic.As for the Traffic Service, it currently works on Cronista Carlos Valcárcel Street with Primo de Rivera and Miguel de Cervantes, where the traffic light installations have been affected.For its part, the Road Cleaning Service has proceeded to relocate displaced containers in different locations in the municipality.The cleaning service collaborates in the tasks in coordination with the rest of the municipal services that are currently operating in the affected areas.
