Corvera makes a show of its identity in the renovated Plaza de Las Palmeras (01/10/2020)

| The square, located in the heart of the district, unveils an ornamental fountain and backlit design pots that form the letters of Corvera | The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the councilor for Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, José Guillén, and the mayor of Pedanías and Barrios, Marco Antonio Fernández, visited this morning the works that have been carried out in the Plaza Luis Fontes Pagán, popularly known as the Plaza de las Palmeras de Corvera, which have led to the complete renovation of this environment and the installation of a new ornamental fountain, the main element of the square."Water is very present in the history of our municipality, it has been an indispensable element in Mediterranean gardens since its origins, and for this reason we are giving it a central place in the parks of Murcia and its districts," said José Ballesta, who added that "we continue working to improve the quality of life of our neighbors."In addition, backlit planters labeled with the name of Corvera have been installed, as well as new urban furniture, a set of architectural design elements that improve the aesthetics of this square, located on Avenida Juan Carlos I.

Specifically, the City Council has 44,765.84 euros allocated to this project.Performance in the heart of the districtThis square is located in the center of the district, and in it the existing fountain has been replaced by another with greater functionality and that is integrated with the renovation of the square.

Likewise, an irrigation network has been provided to the installed flowerpots and the lighting network has been adapted to illuminate them.Pool Goal 2023This project is framed within the municipal strategy Objective Pool 2023, with which the City Council is carrying out the rehabilitation and improvement of the sources of the municipality.

Fountains improve air quality, turning green areas into cooler spaces with cleaner air; create a relaxing space; they provide a microclimate, softening temperatures and are a hallmark of the municipality.
