The Espinardo Library will have an outside mailbox for the return of loaned works (23/09/2020)

| The branch of the Murcia Municipal Library Network has been located since 2016 in the JC1 complex on an area of ??676.08 m2 | The councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé, today visited the Espinardo Library on the occasion of the upcoming installation of an outdoor mailbox that allows users to return the works loaned at any time and without having to access the facility.“This is an action demanded by the residents of the district and that, without a doubt, will improve the service provided in this center.

The opinion of citizens is key for decision-making, as their contributions make us advance and optimize the resources that we have at our disposal ”, highlighted the mayor.The Espinardo Library was inaugurated in 1990, inheriting and increasing the funds of the previous Espinardo Reading Agency, created in 1982.

After 25 years sharing facilities with the Cultural and Social Center, in 2016 it moved to the JC1 Complex, where it currently houses a total area of ??676.08 square meters.Of the 18 branches of the Murcia Municipal Library Network, three have a mailbox for the return of borrowed works: Santiago el Mayor and La Alberca offer it abroad; and the new one in Beniaján, which will have this service inside.The Espinardo branch model will be exterior, made of galvanized steel and finished in anti-vandal paint with various orientation and opening possibilities.

It will have a watertight wardrobe in a prismatic shape, with a square plan, with a door, lock and key.The mayor, together with the technicians of the Department of Libraries and Education, as well as members of the Association of Neighbors of Joven Futura and the Municipal Board, has been analyzing the characteristics of this system that "will be the solution for returns 24 hours day".

 The Espinardo Library serves the public from Monday to Saturday, from 9:30 a.m.

to 1:30 p.m., and Monday to Friday, from 4:30 p.m.

to 8:30 p.m.

Like the rest of the branches, it offers the service of requesting and returning books, interlibrary loan, bibliographic and library information and consultation in the room.The loan request is made by appointment through the headquarters phone, available on the web http://rmbm.org/bibliotecas/index.htm.

The use of the facility is carried out following the regulations against Covid-19, such as hand disinfection, use of a mask, safety distance, among others.As for the catalog, users should consult it on the library website.
