Murcia will have a rental system of 250 electric bicycles and 500 electric scooters without stations (22/09/2020)

The Department of Sustainable Development and Huerta will launch next month the call for grants to launch a pilot program for the rental system of bicycles and electric scooters.To this end, an aid of 10,000 euros will be granted for the implementation of 250 electric bicycles and another 10,000 for 500 electric scooters.Both mobility services will be 'free-floating', that is, a system without specific stations, although parking areas and limited maximum speeds will be created.An 'app' to speed up registrationThe companies that apply for this call must offer an application that allows the registration of users and discounts to specific groups such as university students or the unemployed.In addition, the Department will also offer subsidies for the installation of photovoltaic systems for self-consumption in homes and for the purchase of electric motor-assisted pedaling bicycles.For self-consumption photovoltaic systems, the aid will be granted for installations in the municipality of Murcia, in homes of regular use of up to 50% of the cost, with a maximum of 2,000 euros and with a maximum installed power of 10kW.Grants of up to 300 euros to purchase bicyclesThe subsidies for the purchase of electric motor-assisted pedaling bicycles are intended for registered in the municipality of Murcia, who have acquired a bicycle with a purchase date from the publication of the call with aid of up to 50% of the cost a maximum of 300 euros.

This plan received the Renault Award for Best Practice in Sustainable and Accessible Mobility, in the Public Administration category.The Department of Sustainable Development also signed an agreement with the Murcia Parking Association that has enabled 13 car parks to offer one free hour of parking to electric vehicles.

There are 3,000 places that are offered with this initiative.The participating car parks are Glorieta, Verónicas, Saavedra Fajardo, San Andrés, Vibelsa, Centrofama, Universidad, Santoña, Campillo, Libertad, Excelsior, La Vega and Alfonso X.Photovoltaic pergola to recharge 35 bikesLikewise, Murcia has been selected by the European Commission as a pilot city for the implementation of an innovative public recharging system for electric bicycles that will include the installation of recharging points using the electricity supplied by a photovoltaic pergola for 35 electric bikes.

In addition, batteries will be available for energy storage and intelligent control to balance the system using also conventional electricity supply.Free network of charging pointsAnother measure that has been carried out has been the creation of a network of free recharging points.

They are located in the Glorieta, Ronda Sur, Plaza Circular, Jaime I street and Río Segura avenue.Likewise, and thanks to an agreement with Iberdrola, work is being done on the installation of ten new fast charging points (50kW), which entail the creation of 18 new parking spaces for electric vehicles and which will be located in the following locations:-Avenida Don Juan de Borbón, 52 - 1 recharging point with 2 parking spaces.-Calle los Nietos, 2 (Ronda Sur) - 2 charging points with 4 parking spaces.-Avenida los Pinos, 7 - 2 charging points with 4 parking spaces.-Ronda Norte, 26 (Plaza de la Opinion) - 1 charging point with 1 parking space.-Plano de San Francisco, 8 - 1 charging point with 1 parking space.-Alameda de Colón, 10 - 1 charging point with 2 parking spaces.-Plaza Circular, 1 - 1 recharging point with 2 parking spaces.-C / Huerto Manu, 9 - 1 charging point with 2 parking spaces.
