Sustainable mobility, among the strategic lines of the Urban Agenda Murcia 2030 (21/09/2020)

| The Councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government intervenes in the European Mobility Week with a presentation in which she will present the objectives of the Urban Agenda 2030 in this matter | The Murcia City Council, through the Department of Urban Agenda and Open Government, led by Mercedes Bernabé, is immersed in the development of the Murcia Urban Agenda 2030, a document that will mark urban policies for the next ten years and in the that sustainable mobility will play a priority role.

 The mayor speaks this afternoon in the European Mobility Week with the presentation 'Objectives of the Urban Agenda 2030 in terms of mobility', where she will talk about the three priorities for the council: “reduce CO2 emissions by 40% for the next decade, increase energy efficiency by 27%, as well as promote the use of energy from renewable sources ”."We are working on a model that allows, in a responsible way, intercommunication between the districts of the municipality of Murcia, the intermodality of transport, the promotion of electric vehicles and the integration of renewable energy", he highlighted.“This mobility model has to efficiently satisfy the needs derived from economic activities, promoting development and competitiveness, favoring social and territorial equity and healthier modes of transport, as well as contributing to the protection of the environment and improving the health of citizens ”, he highlighted.During the presentation, he will indicate the lines of action for the materialization of these objectives, such as "the implementation of new electric vehicles, such as motorcycles, scooters and bicycles, electric recharging points, new bike lanes and the development of new quiet areas of traffic and pedestrianization.

In addition to promoting public transport, new car parks and intermodal connection nodes in the city ”."Mobility is also included as a strategic objective of the Spanish Urban Agenda, specifically in number 5, which aims to 'Favor proximity and sustainable mobility."
