More than twenty students analyze the concept of leisure from inclusion through a course by the City Council and Unimar (21/09/2020)

| The councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé, inaugurates this training action of the consistory within the courses and activities event of the 37th edition of the International University of the Sea | The councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé, today inaugurated the online course 'Leisure and disability: a path towards inclusion.

Cognitive accessibility: comprehensible spaces', one of the training actions of the Murcia City Council within the summer courses and activities of the 37th edition of the International University of the Sea (Unimar), which has a total of 24 registered students."Administrations must work on the implementation of accessible policies close to citizens.

This action is closely linked with the Murcia 2030 Urban Agenda strategy, in the clear reference to Strategic Objective 6, focused on 'Social Cohesion.

Equal opportunities' of the Spanish Urban Agenda ”, highlighted the mayor during the presentation of this activity by videoconference, together with the director of Unimar, María José Portillo, and the course directors, David Rivera and Conrado Navalón.The activity, aimed at students, teachers and anyone interested, will address the concepts of intellectual disability and cerebral palsy and will address the inclusive methodology based on person-centered care and quality of life.The course will run until Friday over five telematic sessions, where experts in the field will explain the different types of disability, will show the existing services in the Region of Murcia, will present practical cases and methods and will delve into the concept of leisure from the scope of inclusion.“The activity will allow teachers and students to exchange experiences, thus generating a space for mutual knowledge and rapprochement with this group.

Cognitive accessibility: comprehensible spaces '(online), and' The City in Al-Andalus; perspectives from practice '(online)'.This training offer is the result of collaboration agreements between the City Council and the International University of the Sea, whose contents analyze current issues focused on the social, political and cultural sphere.
