Urban public transport will be free next Tuesday to celebrate the ´European Car-Free Day´ (20/09/2020)

| Throughout the day, Gran Vía will be closed to road traffic | Next Tuesday, September 22, Murcia will celebrate the 'European Car Free Day' and Murcians will be able to use public transport for free - tram and city buses.In addition, throughout the day, the Gran Vía will be closed to road traffic, except for public transport. The European Car-Free Day is a day framed within the European Mobility Week.

Every year, on this day, actions are promoted to raise awareness about the responsible use of motorized traffic and promote ecological alternatives such as public transport, bicycles or electric vehicles. Monday morning activitiesThe programming of the European Mobility Week tomorrow Monday will begin at 9 am with the campaign 'Thank you for using public transport' and the distribution of potted plants in Glorieta de España, Santa Isabel and Plaza Circular.At 6 pm, Pavilion 2 of the Artillery Barracks will host the conference '2030 Urban Agenda Objectives on Mobility' by the Councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé.Later, representatives of associations and groups will talk about 'Accessibility in mobility projects'.The day will conclude with a 'Walk through the trees of Murcia: anecdotes, curiosities and legends', at 6.30 pm from Plaza Díez de Revenga with the necessary registration on the website mobility.murcia.es.More activities on TuesdayIn addition to the celebration of the European Car-Free Day ', on Tuesday 22 September other activities have been organized within the European Mobility Week.
