This initiative, framed in the Erasmus Plus program of the European Union, is being carried out in the schools of the Luis Costa municipality, in La Flota, and Federico de Arce, in San Antón, and, in parallel, in Härryda centers.

(Sweden), Torres Vedras (Portugal) and Ravenna (Italy).Technicians from the European Programs Service, the municipal area responsible for the project, have held a coordination meeting with the rest of the participating councils of the aforementioned countries to continue with the development of the project and analyze the current context derived from Covid-19 in each of collaborating countries.

In this sense, "the situation caused by the coronavirus is not being experienced in the same way in the four countries, neither the impact nor the measures adopted in the centers and classes are similar", stressed Mercedes Bernabé, who recalled that " the students and teachers are now resuming the project, after its interruption in March with the stoppage of the teaching activity ”. The international meeting has served to show the work that is being developed in the schools and to study different methodologies that contribute to gender equality, as well as to detect good practices on this and to extend them to the rest of the participating educational centers. The meeting was organized electronically by the municipality of Härryda (Sweden) with the attendance of a total of 35 people, including municipal technicians, teachers, coordinators and speakers.Likewise, progress has been made in the process of delivering work reports, which is being favorable despite the situation caused by Covid-19 throughout Europe, and has not excessively harmed the timeline provided in the roadmap of the draft.“From the City Council we are committed to the training of our teachers with projects like these that promote values ??that are so important for educational systems, such as gender equality.

These meetings contribute to the exchange of experiences and enrichment with a common goal, the promotion of a fairer society ”, highlighted the mayor.Gender equality from schoolsThe 'Colorful Children' project is aimed at teachers and students of Early Childhood and Primary education centers in order to learn and actively work on gender equality.Murcia is immersed in this initiative along with three other European municipalities, such as Torres Vedras (Portugal), Ravenna (Italy) and Härryda (Sweden).
