The City Council resumes civil weddings next weekend after the summer with a capacity limit of thirty people (12/09/2020)

| The Plenary Hall has hosted 41 ceremonies of the 91 planned in the wedding calendar during the first half of 2020; the rest of the marriages, a total of 50, have been canceled or postponed for other dates | The City Council, through the Department of Urban Agenda and Open Government, led by Mercedes Bernabé, resumes the calendar of civil weddings after the summer with a limited capacity of thirty people, in accordance with the provisions of the Order of the Ministry of Health of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, of September 4, 2020, by which exceptional and temporary measures are adopted to face the unfavorable evolution of Covid-19.Specifically, the Assembly Hall of the Murcian consistory will host six weddings (two for Friday and four for Saturday) next weekend, September 18 and 19, after the holiday period.

Thus, the last were those held on July 24 and 25.“The Murcia City Council has continued with the celebration of civil marriages throughout these months, despite the pandemic and the state of alarm, adapting to the security protocols of each moment and each of the phases, where it has gone modifying the maximum capacity allowed ”, recalled Mercedes Bernabé.The Plenary Hall of the City Council has hosted 41 ceremonies of the 91 planned in the wedding calendar during the first half of 2020; the rest of the marriages, a total of 50, have been canceled or postponed for other dates.

During the same period of 2019, 69 ceremonies took place.“The nuptial calendar has been modified, due to the situation of the pandemic, but, despite the situation, the consistory has continued to celebrate weddings.

We have made it easy for couples to change dates and set up additional weekends to meet new demands.

Our goal is to always be at the service of citizens and offer them the best resources and facilities for this unique and special moment ”, recalls Mercedes Bernabé.With respect to the second semester of this year, the celebration of 47 civil marriages is scheduled in the Assembly Hall of the town hall.Weddings by videoconferenceThe City Council, through the Department of Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, led by José Guillén, offers couples the possibility of transmitting the ceremonies by videoconference so that the couple can share this moment with the largest number of family and friends.This measure began to be carried out on April 25 and was maintained during the minimum allowed capacity restrictions.

Starting next weekend, according to current limitations, the council takes up this measure in which guests have access to the event through a web link to which they are previously given access.

Likewise, in the Assembly Hall there is a screen where the couple can see their closest friends.AppointmentThe Civil Marriages Office of the Murcia City Council attends to the public in person by appointment through the municipal website and by phone 010 and at the number 968 22 95 49, if you call outside the municipal area.
