The City Council requests financing from the SEF so that 27 unemployed young people receive training and carry out internships at the Food Bank (11/09/2020)

| This is the Joint Youth Guarantee Employment and Training Program "Food Bank", for which the Consistory requests the SEF a grant of 276,125 euros | The Governing Board has approved in its session today to request from the Regional Employment and Training Service a subsidy of 276,125 euros to carry out the Mixed Employment and Training Program "Food Bank" for 27 unemployed young people, between 16 and 29 years, enrolled in the Youth Guarantee.This program, if the subsidy is approved by the SEF, will focus its actions on the improvement, maintenance, cleaning and disinfection of the Food Bank facilities, increasing the effectiveness and efficiency in the work processes to make better use of resources.

, supporting the volunteer staff in charge of the food collection campaigns, as well as the storage and subsequent distribution among various entities, associations, NGOs, and end users.In this way, the Department of Employment, Economic Promotion and Tourism, led by councilor Pedro García Rex, continues to promote collaboration with the Segura Food Bank Association for the implementation of projects to support the unemployed and entrepreneurs.Given the current crisis derived from the pandemic, the Banco de Alimentos del Segura has seen an increase in its work, as a situation of precariousness has been generated in many groups, so the interventions of this type of entities are proving essential to provide sustenance and support to thousands of families.The municipal Employment Service aims to train 27 students in certificates of professionalism of levels 1 and 2, specifically in auxiliary warehouse activities, cleaning of open spaces and industrial facilities and carpentry and furniture work.

In addition, students will be trained in computer science, occupational risk prevention, gender equality, social economy, environmental awareness, and job search and improvement resources.9 months of training and paid internshipsIn case of obtaining the SEF subsidy, the program is expected to last 9 months and be divided into two phases: a first 3-month training stage and another of training in alternation with professional practice, lasting 6 months , in which the students will be hired by the Murcia City Council with a contract for training and learning, receiving 75% of the minimum interprofessional salary.Young people who pass the training and obtain the certificate of professionalism will be able to work in companies in these professional sectors, after acquiring skills in merchandise and warehouse management, inventory management, cleaning of spaces, waste management, assembly, preparation and use in carpentry work, among others.
