'Things that are not bought' can be found in Murcia's Food Plazas (10/09/2020)

| The communication campaign promoted by the Department of Commerce and Markets highlights the added value that squares bring to the city by offering fresh and quality products | The initiative is also a recognition of the fundamental role that markets have historically developed as well as all the people who work in them to provide a close and essential service for the cityThe spot tells a true story of how markets are part of Murcian life through positive and unforgettable anecdotes that have occurred in the squares"THINGS THAT ARE NOT PURCHASED" is the claim of the campaign that shows the importance of the Markets presented this morning by the Delegate Councilor for Commerce, Markets and Public Roads, together with the different merchants and presidents of the eight Supply Squares of Murcia.

An initiative that shows all those important moments that people experience every day in the Plazas de Abastos, a frequent meeting place where, thanks to shopping, unforgettable stories are lived and in which an essential, quality and close service is provided to bring healthy and fresh products so that on the same day they arrive from the field or the sea to our table. As shown in the spot, the squares are an essential part of Murcia, being the living history of the municipality and its neighbors.

Because over time they have been the preferred place to buy food due to their proximity and their ability to provide healthy products at the best price, allowing significant savings to consumers' pockets and encouraging the purchase of local products.

and regional. This original initiative shows real life stories, important news, the effort and struggle of all those people who work every day in the markets so that everything works daily, continuously adapting to new circumstances, both hygienic, sanitary and social distancing.

Stories ranging from the efforts of merchants to bring the best products every day, to the fundamental role of plaza officials to ensure the safety and operation of the venues.A few Plazas de Abastos de Murcia that, in addition, have made a titanic effort positioning themselves as an essential service guaranteeing the supply of basic necessities, as has been recently demonstrated during the confinement caused by Covid-19.Through the concept "THINGS THAT ARE NOT PURCHASED", all the added value that the plazas offer is shown, both to regular customers and to those users who still do not know them.

A nearby trade that is the engine of the local economy and that, also, has immediacy with fresh and healthy products, becoming an essential service to society.

For this reason, both the graphic, the spot and the wedges tell the real stories of the people who work in the markets.

Stories of joy, important news, improvement and the effort behind each worker in the markets to ensure supply, purchase and normal operation in the markets of Verónicas, Saavedra Fajardo, Vistabella, El Carmen, La Alberca , San Andrés, Espinardo and Cabezo de Torres. The communication campaign also shows the capacity of the municipality's markets to adapt to changing times.

And it is that the Plazas de Abastos, which were already in a process of modernization and digitization, have adapted in record time their services to the new demands and needs of customers, facilitating online orders, both with home delivery and to be collected in the market itself without queues or waiting.

And all without losing the proximity and personalized service, which is the essence of buying in the place of a lifetime.

Something that has been possible thanks to the efforts of all the merchants that make up the markets and the collaboration of Muác, the Commercial Area, the Federation of Food Plazas de Murcia and districts, and the Department of Commerce. The campaign, which started today, will be carried out simultaneously for the eight food markets in the municipality and will be broadcast in the local media and on Muác's social networks, where the communication formats of the campaign will be available.

In addition, the campaign also has reinforcement in regional media to attract purchases from users from other municipalities near the capital. The Councilor for Commerce of the Murcia City Council, Juan Fernando Hernández, pointed out in the presentation that "markets are a place where, not only can we buy fresh products, but also where the relationship between customers and businesses is so familiar and close that over time end up becoming friendship relations ”.

In this way, the council shows, once again, the effort to value the work of the Plazas de Abastos and the merchants who work in them.

And it is that "THINGS THAT ARE NOT PURCHASED" is another of the initiatives to support and stimulate local commerce that has been launched and that joins others such as the "COME BACK TO KNOW US" campaign to support local commerce,as well as other campaigns to which the council has adhered such as those promoted by the General Directorate of Commerce and Business Innovation, an organization that exercises powers in trade in the Region of Murcia.
