Podemos demands the preparation of the municipality's social health map to control the transmission of Covid 19 (10/09/2020)

The Economic and Social Reactivation Plan, approved unanimously in the June plenary session, considered as one of its most important points the development of a social health map of the municipality that reflects the most sensitive areas, which require greater intervention by the services municipal and sanitary.

"That map has become, right now, essential.

Even more so when from Health they warn that the socioeconomic structure of the Region is favoring the transmission of the virus," says the spokesman for Podemos in the Murcia City Council, Ginés Ruiz Maciá. Homes with poor habitability conditions, houses where several families live together, an underground economy, precarious jobs with non-compliance with the health standards imposed by the pandemic, low level of education ...

these are factors that have been proven to be negatively influencing the transmission of the virus.

"The development of a social health map that reflects the conditions of each area of ??the municipality would help to identify sensitive streets and neighborhoods that due to their circumstances are acting as transmitting agents of the virus." According to the spokesperson for Podemos in the Murcia City Council, Ginés Ruiz Maciá, this map, which is reflected in the municipality's Economic and Social Reactivation Plan, "it has become an essential tool in view of the evolution that the pandemic is having in the capital of the Region ". From the purple training they consider that identifying sensitive areas would allow the reinforcement of social and health care in the streets and neighborhoods most affected by the pandemic.

"Knowing which places are more sensitive to transmission, we can reinforce primary care, increase social workers to help families who lose resources due to quarantines, raise awareness among groups to generalize the use of masks and social distance, and improve police surveillance to minimize non-compliance with the regulations ", highlights the spokesman for Podemos in the Murcia City Council. Elaborating this socio-sanitary map "is a mandate of the Plenary because it is included in the Economic and Social Reactivation Plan and it is essential with the contagion data managed by the Ministry of Health".

The political authorities in the field of health have recognized that the socioeconomic circumstances of the Region are favoring the transmission of the virus.

Therefore, "it is time to address an issue that has been on the table for years.

If that map had been prepared previously, the situation in the municipality would probably be more controlled."
