| The City Council has carried out the complete remodeling of this environment, which is a reference point for neighborhood meetings for families of the neighborhood | The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the councilor for Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, José Guillén, and the councilor for Pedanías and Barrios, Marco Antonio Fernández, visited Río Mundo de La Paz street this morning, whose pergola of 375 square meters has been completely renovated through the municipal strategy Urban DNA, and where a new school garden has been enabled, among other actions carried out in this environment."This project responds to two strategic lines of the Murcia City Council: the Shadow Plan, with the complete renovation of the pergola, and Neighborhood Participation, since the work undertaken in this environment is framed within the Urban DNA Neighborhood Regeneration Plan of La Paz, through which we have collected proposals from the neighbors and the different groups in the neighborhood ”, highlighted José Ballesta.

In this context, the City Council has allocated an investment of more than 2 million euros in urban and social projects in the last two years. It should be remembered that the Shadow Plan is the municipal strategy of the Consistory that allows families to enjoy new shaded spaces, protecting them from solar radiation and high temperatures.A new parterre under the orange trees, renovation of the pavement and a shrub mural in homage to the neighborhoodFor its part, the objective of the ADN La Paz project is to improve public spaces and meeting points between the residents of the neighborhood, focusing in this case on a reference point of neighborhood meeting, such as Río Mundo street, located next to the Center Municipal neighborhood.Through this project, the City Council has improved the functionality and aesthetics of Río Mundo Street, since the street's pavement has been renewed - eliminating irregularities and creating a uniform space -; A new linear parterre has been fitted out under the orange trees, and has led to the creation of an urban school garden of almost 70 square meters, which can be used by the students of the Nuestra Señora de La Paz school. The works have also included the creation of a bush mural with the word 'Peace' in the existing garden in this environment, as well as a new path that crosses it, and the installation of new urban furniture. In addition, different painting works have been carried out, such as those carried out on the shaded surface of the pergola with drawings, as an urban tattoo.New playgrounds, improvements to the connection with Avenida de La fame and low consumption lightingAmong the actions undertaken, the new lighting that has been enabled on the perimeter of the pergola and the creation of a new pedestrian crossing that facilitates access from the playground, along the Avenida de La Fama, also stands out.Likewise, the City Council has set up a new circuit for children's games, which has hopscotch, a set of jumping logs, a painted jumping path, a painted kite and a trampoline, among other elements.Cinema and football, concepts that define the identity of the neighborhoodThrough the ADN La Paz project, the City Council has identified two lines of work that define the identity of the La Paz neighborhood: cinema and futsal.

Taking both concepts into account, the Town Hall is working on integrating them - a small soccer field has been set up under the pergola, and two of the benches that were in disuse have been replaced by goals and protection fences. In addition, paint work has been carried out in the parking area, which simulates an indoor soccer field.

For its part, the cinema will be present in the next restorations of the other 7 pergolas that this neighborhood has.Regeneration of neighborhoods with 'Urban DNA'Specifically, 'Urban DNA of La Paz' is framed within the 'Murcia.

ADN Urbano ', the intervention model of the Murcia City Council to improve the quality of life of families in the urban area, neighborhoods and districts, which collects proposals from residents and different groups to carry out improvement actions.
