Promotion reinforces the lines that connect Murcia with Alquerías, El Raal, Espinardo, Los Ramos, Sangonera la Verde and Santomera (08/09/2020)

| Bus connections with the university campuses will be reestablished at the beginning of the academic year | The public service currently has an average occupation of 20 percent The Ministry of Development and Infrastructures reinforces the bus lines with the highest demand from travelers, which are those that connect the city of Murcia with Alquerías, El Raal, Espinardo, Los Ramos and Sangonera la Verde and with the municipality of Santomera (Lines 28, 30, 31 and 36) to guarantee the mobility of citizens exactly where it is needed. The metropolitan lines of Murcia and Cartagena were reactivated last May, with the exception of the connections with the university campuses, which will be reestablished on the occasion of the start of the new academic year.

Specifically, these are line 39 Campus de Espinardo-Murcia and line 47 Molina-Campus de Espinardo-UCAM.

Line 78 Beniaján-Arrixaca-Alcantarilla-Espinardo Campus is also extended to serve the Espinardo and UCAM campuses. The general director of Mobility and Litoral, Marina Munuera, explained that the restoration of metropolitan transport services after the phases of confinement due to the pandemic has always been carried out in response to the real demand of users, "at the rate that has been necessary and with the maximum sanitary precautions to prevent buses from becoming vectors of contagion ".

She recalled that, "likewise, the interurban lines of the rest of the municipalities were reestablished, as requested by the mayors." 20 percent average occupancy "Currently, the supply of services in the metropolitan area of ??Murcia is close to 70 percent, and it is even higher in the main lines and those with greater demand," explained the general director, who highlighted that "the public service has an average occupation below 20 percent, which means that demand is down 60 percent from the previous year.

" Munuera said that "we will increase the offer as there is a sufficient demand from travelers to justify said implementation, but it is not sustainable to put buses to circulate empty, for reasons of environmental and functional efficiency." "The priority of the regional government is to stop the coronavirus pandemic and within this is to guarantee the security of citizens' mobility." "We must be prudent in transport because it is considered a potential vector for the transmission of the virus," he concluded.
