The Murcia City Council has not paid the dining scholarships since June (04/09/2020)

The parents of the minor beneficiaries of the dining room scholarships ensure that the cards have not been recharged for three months.

In the opinion of the councilors of Podemos in the Murcia City Council, who demand immediate payment and that there are responsibilities in the face of "disastrous and harmful management for children in vulnerable situations." "We do not understand what goes through the heads of our leaders who are not capable of seeing that feeding minors in vulnerable situations has to be one of their priorities." The councilor of Podemos, Clara Martínez Baeza, assures that the situation that these children are going through, "is not tolerable in a democracy." From Podemos they do not give credit to the fact that the councilor, Pilar Torres, has not deposited all her efforts on the boys and girls of the municipality. History repeats itself month after month, from the moment it was decided that the rechargeable card would be the system to guarantee food for the minor beneficiaries of the dining room scholarships.

The City Council "has not been able to pay the money in a timely manner, resulting in families spending weeks, and even months, to be able to use the cards." The delays have been constant, and although from Podemos the situation has been denounced, "the only answer we have obtained is that they are guaranteed and that Pablo Iglesias is bad." Despite promising that the scholarships are guaranteed, another month has passed and the cards are still not being reloaded.

"With guarantees and endorsements you do not eat, you eat with money on the cards and that, to this day, they still do not have it,with an accumulated delay since the month of June ". From Podemos they demand immediate payment of the arrears and that the government team "assume once and for all its responsibility" with the minors, instead of "wasting time inaugurating hearts of flowers." The councilors of the purple formation assure that they do not understand "that the mayor allows himself the luxury of strolling through the streets of the city taking photos and spending the money of all Murcian and Murcian people in purely aesthetic measures while the cards accumulate three months of arrears ".

Councilor Clara Martínez Baeza also asks the councilor to assume that "she is not capable of managing this, that her work is leaving much to be desired and that her incompetence is being paid by the most vulnerable, the children."
