The City Council will resume the surveys that will be used to prepare the Urban Transport Reorganization Study in the second half of September (03/09/2020)

| Until the time of the suspension due to the pandemic, 15% of the total of 5,500 scheduled surveys had been carried out | During the second half of September, the surveys of Murcians that will be used to prepare the Study of urban public transport reorganization are resumed. These works had to be suspended because the closure of educational centers due to the health crisis of COVID-19 caused a clear distortion of the results obtained from the survey.

Until the moment of the suspension, 15% of the total of 5,500 scheduled surveys had been carried out.In total there will be 3,528 polls that will be carried out in districts and that will be added to the 2,072 that will be carried out in the urban area. The technicians will ask for the trips made the day before the call. These surveys will be carried out through an innovative segmentation system that increases the quality of the results obtained and guarantees citizen participation in the future Mobility Plan. For this, the type and territorial distribution of the respondents will be taken into account based on the mobility results obtained from the mobile terminals (georeferencing), so that both data sources are compatible and are enriched by their fusion. The Councilor for Sustainable Mobility and Youth, Rebeca Pérez, has asked Murcians "for their maximum collaboration with this process since with this we will all develop the best transport system for Murcia, which will backbone the entire territory by linking the urban area with the districts effectively.

"Thanks to this technical assistance, which has an award budget of 212,139 euros, the document that will collect the technical service project that will serve as the basis for the future tender for urban and metropolitan public transport in the municipality of Murcia will be drawn up.

.The technical assistance also works on the analysis of the 1,580 stops and 40 lines that make up the network of public transport in the municipality of Murcia.
