| Entry to the facilities is prohibited for anyone who presents any symptoms that may be suspected of Covid | The users who cultivate the lands of the leisure gardens that are in the municipality of Murcia follow a special protocol of action to prevent the appearance of coronavirus infections.Murcia City Council, through the Department of Sustainable Development and Huerta, has developed a protocol that includes the express measures that must be followed for work in these facilities.Access to the orchards is prohibited for anyone who presents any symptoms that may be suspected of Covid.

In addition, all the tools and utensils used to work the land are cleaned by the users themselves before and after each use.Use of mask and safety distanceInside the facilities, the use of a mask is mandatory without exception.

In addition, users have to keep a minimum safety distance of two meters from each other to avoid contact.Inside the orchards, users must apply frequent hand washing with hydroalcoholic or disinfectant solutions in order to avoid contagion sources.Promotion of self-consumptionThe municipal leisure gardens are spaces conditioned by the City Council and managed by the Environment Service for the cultivation of vegetables in a self-consumption regime, without profit, combining social, educational, environmental and patrimonial benefits, among them, the conservation of local varieties in danger of extinction, the maintenance of an agroecosystem of great interest, such as the Huerta Antigua de Murcia and the educational, training and outreach use.These facilities are subject to visits by schools and associations in order to publicize the activities carried out in them and instill values ??about traditional and ecological agriculture.

These activities will be resumed when the health authorities allow it according to the evolution experienced by the Covid pandemic.Currently, the City Council has 182 leisure gardens.

Some of them are in Espinardo, El Palmar, Ronda Sur, Sangonera la Verde, Santiago el Mayor, Churra, San Pío X, Guadalupe, Aljucer, Beniaján, El Puntal and Santo Ángel.
