| The Governing Board gives the green light to supply equipment and technological material for a price of 36,085 euros | Murcia City Council invests in the maintenance and construction of infrastructures that contribute to the well-being and improvement of the quality of life of residents.In this sense, the Governing Board today approved the award of the supply of computer equipment and material for the Municipal Library of Beniaján, for a maximum price of 36,085 euros.This facility depends on the Municipal Network of Libraries of Murcia (RMBM), a service managed by the Department of Urban Agenda and Open Government, directed by the mayor Mercedes Bernabé.New construction on an area of ??almost 2,000 metersThe Library of Beniaján shares a building with the cultural center of the district.

These are two newly built infrastructures, with an area of ??1,942'05 square meters, of which 575 are for the cultural center, 808 for the library and study room and the rest for the auditorium, exhibition hall and general lobby.The Government Team has given the green light today to supply all technological materials for use, from computers, monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, network connected storage units and external hard drives.149 seats for usersIn addition to a 24-hour study room -with a capacity of 84 study places-, the library will be divided into two sections: one for children and another for youth and adults, totaling 65 places, of which that 8 will have internet access.

In this sense, between the library and the 24-hour room, the center will have a total of 149 positions.Likewise, the building has a central interior patio, which will illuminate the interior areas.The opening of the library will offer a new service to the 11,467 residents of Beniaján.

This action has involved an investment of 2.1 million.The Library of Beniaján will be the first center of the Municipal Network of Libraries of Murcia that will have an anti-theft system and that will allow self-loan, consisting of acquiring the documents or returning them without having to go through the counter.Study room and library in the same spaceIn this way, by incorporating a 24-hour study room and library in the same space in Beniaján, the Municipal Network of Libraries of Murcia takes a further step in the implementation of this system, creating new meeting spaces and for carrying out cultural activities .The first library of the branches of the Municipal Network that had among its services a 24-hour study room was the Antonio Botías de Sangonera La Verde Chronicler Library.The new units, both in Sangonera La Verde and in Beniaján, respond to the new concept of public library that, moving away from the idea of ??space for the custody of books, has been transformed into a meeting place, from where information and information can be disseminated.
