The City Council begins to apply the measures agreed by the Health Committee (21/08/2020)

| The Local Action Plan against the Increase in Epidemiological Risk in the Municipality of Murcia includes specific actions that involve all the councils | The Murcia City Council has begun to apply the measures approved at its last meeting by the Public Health Committee.

At this meeting, the mayor, José Ballesta, presented the master lines of the Local Action Plan in the face of the Increased Epidemiological Risk in the Municipality of Murcia.This document collects the measures that will be applied in the regional capital to guarantee security and contain contagions for the return to activity in all sectors in September.The Local Action Plan involves transversally all areas of the Municipal Government.

The Health Area, Social Services and Civil Protection will maintain a coordinated effort to guarantee the care of all families who must keep quarantine by medical indication.In parallel, the Local Police will increase vigilance to guarantee compliance with the regulations established by the authorities to deal with the pandemic, such as the mandatory use of a mask, the reduction of capacity in private vehicles for people who do not live together and the limits of closing time and capacity decreed for the establishments.Routine health reportsLikewise, the Health Services technicians will prepare routine reports that will allow an exact X-ray of the evolution of the pandemic within the municipality and adapt the responses that are most effective.

The City Council will maintain fluid contact with the regional government for the implementation of specific measures.Police control to avoid crowds and bottlesPolice action will also monitor that no crowds or concentrations occur and will fine those who carry bottles in the street.

The work of the agents has already allowed the dissolution of concentrations of people that occurred spontaneously on weekends in points of Barriomar, in the FICA and in the surroundings of the Rambla de Torreagüera.The Government Team will also proceed to review all events of a cultural and recreational nature that are convened and the technicians will be the ones who will decide on the suitability of their maintenance or suspension.The services of the urban bus lines and the tram will be maintained at 100% both in number of vehicles and in frequency of schedules.

The operators will apply a special disinfection protocol to guarantee cleanliness and hygiene.

In addition, access to training is guaranteed, either in person or online, following all recommended health measures.New management system in the weekly marketsRegarding the Market Service, a new mixed management system will be articulated for the management of weekly markets with the collaboration of the sector and auxiliary companies.

A new system for counting and controlling the digital capacity of markets will also be available together with the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.Similarly, communication campaigns have been designed to promote and encourage consumption in stores and weekly markets.

Intensive cleaning and disinfection work has been implemented in these facilities to guarantee the safety of the stall owners and customers.
