We can denounce new delays in the payment of the dining grants (21/08/2020)

The municipal group Podemos in the Murcia City Council ensures that families have been unpaid since June, a delay that adds to the previous ones and "makes clear, once again, the abandonment to which the Glorieta government is subjecting vulnerable minors Township". As a result of the closure of schools, the Murcia City Council decided to replace the dining room service with the delivery to the beneficiaries of a purse card on which the amount of the meals would be charged.

A card that had to be recharged month by month to guarantee food for the minors of vulnerable families in the municipality.

The facts have confirmed that the municipal government, from the council of Pilar Torres, has subjected these minors "to cruel abandonment" since card recharges suffer repeated delays. "The situation is serious because since the closing of the schools, all payments have accumulated weeks of delays, with the damage that this supposes to the beneficiary families of the dining room scholarships," said councilor Clara Martínez Baeza.

The mayor does not understand "this abandonment, this abandonment of functions and this lack of respect to which the government is subjecting families who are being severely hit by the crisis and dragging situations of vulnerability." Therefore, Martínez Baeza demands "the immediate payment of the delays" so that the minors cease to be "the target of the incompetence of the Popular Party councilor, who does not assume that her management is being disastrous and that her lack of capacity is affecting minors ". The municipal group Podemos is concerned about the ineffectiveness and helplessness with which it is treating minors, especially the most vulnerable.

¨The dining room scholarships were replaced late by purse cards, it was recognized, also late, the need for this aid not to be limited to school days, and yet this summer not a single euro has been entered ", declared Clara Martínez Baeza . This situation adds to the "systemic" neglect to which local and regional governments are subjecting minors of school age.

"In the July plenary session we took a motion for the Ballesta government to prepare a safe and guaranteed return to school, they rejected it claiming that it was already planned and this week the counseling has surprised us with the brilliant idea of ??permanent education, without lowering ratios and hiring a paltry amount of reinforcement teachers.

" In the opinion of the two councilors that make up the municipal group, the governments of the Popular Party, with the support of Ciudadanos, "are feeding on children, abandoning them to their fate and ignoring that minors have fundamental rights that must be covered, such as it's education and food.

" For all this, Councilor Clara Martínez Baeza asks, once again, that the Pilar Torres council pay the arrears and that "once and for all, this City Council attends to children and minors in vulnerable situations as required by law."
