The City Council allocates 380,000 euros to pay for repair and reform works in 13 social care units (18/08/2020)

| The works carried out will allow the expansion of the network of social work units and have improved the facilities used by third-sector entities to serve the most vulnerable groups | The Murcia City Council, through the Department of Social and Family Rights, led by the mayor Pilar Torres, has allocated an investment of 380,000 euros to pay for the repair and reform works that have been executed in 13 dependencies where it is provided social care for citizens who require it.One of the facilities in which the Consistory has acted is in the García Alix municipal center.

A new office has been set up on the semi-basement floor, in line with the existing spaces in the rest of the center, which will be occupied by the fibromyalgia association Fibrofamur.

The works have involved an investment of 11,803.21 euros.Councilor Pilar Torres has visited this center this morning to monitor the final state of the area in which the actions have taken place.

The total investment to condition the space has been 76,330.80 euros.Another new social work unit will open in San Pío X, where a store on Neptuno Street has been renovated.

It has allocated 15,000 euros to improve the thermal insulation of the roof of the building and the carpentry of the common areas to achieve greater energy efficiency in the face of the most intense cold or hot months.Several works are planned at the Centro de la Mujer del Barrio del Progreso, budgeted at 15,000 euros.

The upper floor will be equipped with one more toilet, the paint store will be isolated and both the blinds and the lights will be replaced.Works in Los DoloresThe adaptation of a toilet to make it fully accessible, enable an emergency exit and improve the soundproofing of the auditorium and the dance hall are the works that have been carried out at the Los Dolores Women's Center.

The municipal investment allocated has been 16,479.57 euros.In the Los Dolores district, the City Council has also acted in the Municipal Center, which houses, among other services, a social work unit and the town's social center.

The building is adapted to fire protection regulations.Equipped fire hydrants, smoke and fire detectors and alarms and an external emergency staircase have been installed to provide the unit with a second exit if necessary.Las dependencias municipales que se encuentran en la calle Saavedra Fajardo de Murcia también han recibido mejoras gracias a la sustitución de las ventanas, pasando de ser de hierro a otras de aluminio con doble acristalamiento.Esta actuación permite que mejoren de forma sustancial las condiciones climáticas de la planta del edificio, reduciendo las pérdidas de energía, el consumo y la huella de carbono y mejorando la eficiencia energética.
