The second edition of MurciaJuega is postponed to 2021 (16/08/2020)

The Murcia City Council and the El Duende association announce that the event is definitively postponed to next year, without a specific date, in order to be able to be held with the maximum security guarantees."It is a playful event in which the relationship between the participants is very close, so, given the current circumstances, the best option is to delay its celebration and wait for the situation to be the most appropriate," explains Rebeca Pérez , Councilor for Sustainable Mobility and Youth. MurciaJuega is a board game event where, among others, Catan, Carcassonne, Rey Paparajote, Mal Trago, Shikoku, Terraforming Mars and Lego Creationary stand out, as well as tournaments with attendees from all over Spain. The Cagigal Pavilion hosted the first edition in 2019 with more than 2,500 participants and where six national board game publishers were present. This year it was scheduled to take place at the Artillery Barracks in March, but due to the state of alarm, the event was delayed to September.

Now, definitely, the organization and the consistory have agreed to move it to next year. “It is time to appeal to responsibility and work together, from all areas and sectors of society, to avoid the negative effects of Covid-19.

Our duty now is to make the best decisions, become aware and respect the safety regulations ”, recalls the mayor. 'You choose to be responsible'The City Council has launched the 'You choose to be responsible' campaign to prevent infections among the youth population.

It is an initiative of great visual impact that aims to create awareness among the youngest by showing them that they are the owners of their decisions and that these can have negative effects, if they are not taken properly. This campaign is part of the set of measures that the Murcia City Council has put in place to stop the spread of Covid-19 in the municipality.
