Zeneta unveils new underground containers on Calle Mayor today (15/08/2020)

| The district has nine points with a capacity of 4,000 liters each for the collection of organic waste, as well as glass, packaging and paper | Rebeca Pérez: "This action, with an investment of 46,000 euros, represents a significant improvement in the environment, as pedestrians gain space and also eliminates the visual impact of traditional containers"The district of Zeneta today opens new underground containers on Calle Mayor, in the vicinity of the Senior Center.

The Department of Mobility and Youth, led by Rebeca Pérez, has installed nine points with a capacity of 4,000 liters each for the collection of organic waste, as well as glass, packaging and paper. The mayor, who has visited the area to supervise the installation, recalls that "this action, with an investment of 46,000 euros, represents a significant improvement in the environment, as pedestrians gain space and also eliminates the visual impact of traditional containers" .Another advantage of these infrastructures is that they are less noisy, generate less odors and are also more accessible, since their use reduces the architectural barriers that people who have some difficulty with reduced mobility usually encounter. In parallel, the Cleaning Service is also carrying out this work in Cabezo de Torres, next to the Abastos square in the Murcian district. These actions are part of the City Council's plan to improve infrastructure and the quality of public services in all neighborhoods and districts of the municipality.Currently, the municipality has a total of 1,119 underground containers, of which 632 are to deposit waste, 207 to store containers, 165 to house paper and another 115 for glass.
