The 7th edition of the ´Leisure and Disability´ course will be held in September in the online mode (12/08/2020)

| This is one of the training actions that the Murcia City Council offers within the 37th edition of the summer activities of the International University of Sea (Unimar) | Murcia City Council and the International University of the Sea (Unimar) continue with the 7th edition of the course 'Leisure and disability: a path towards inclusion.

Cognitive accessibility: understandable spaces', which will be held online from September 21 to 25.

 This is one of the training actions that the Murcian consistory offers within the 37th edition of Unimar's summer activities.

Those interested have until September 17 to register through the Unimar page.The councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé, together with the councilor for the Elderly, Disability and Development Cooperation, Paqui Pérez, have met with the director of this course, David Rivera Luzón, to discuss the last preparations for this activity , which will address the concepts of intellectual disability and cerebral palsy and address the inclusive methodology based on person-centered care and quality of life.“We continue working to make Murcia a more accessible, close, barrier-free municipality open to all citizens.

For this, we are committed to training as a space for meeting and mutual knowledge that contributes to raising the awareness of people with disabilities ”, Mercedes Bernabé highlights.The course is intended for students, teachers and anyone interested in receiving information on intellectual disability, paralysis, self-determination, accessibility and inclusive leisure.The councilor for Urban Agenda adds that "this training action is in line with the sustainable development policies that we are implementing in the municipality and where accessibility, in its broadest sense, is a basic objective that falls within the scope of the Agenda Urbana Murcia 2030, in clear reference to strategic objective 6 Social cohesion.

Cognitive accessibility: comprehensible spaces '(online), and' The City in Al-Andalus; perspectives from practice '(online)'.This training offer is the result of the collaboration agreements between the City Council and the International University of the Sea, whose contents will analyze current aspects focused on the social, political and cultural sphere. 40 courses of different topics and professional fieldsThe International University of the Sea, Unimar, which organizes the summer courses of the University of Murcia, this year offers a total of 40 summer courses of different themes and professional fields.

This year, due to Covid-19, the face-to-face activity has been delayed until September and some of the courses have switched to online. The Unimar courses will take place in a total of twelve venues, thanks to the collaboration of the different town councils of the Region, among which is the Murcian town hall.
