Felipe Coello: "The City Council is acting with rigor, responsibility and the highest level of citizen information" (11/08/2020)

The mayor recalls that "the Municipal Health Services are in permanent contact with the Autonomous Community to coordinate the actions that are being developed in our municipality." The Councilor for Health in the Murcia City Council, Felipe Coello, has reported, in response to the socialist municipal group, that "the Murcia City Council is acting with rigor, responsibility and the highest level of citizen information.

A statement that it probably could not make the Mr.

Serrano on the way in which the Government of Pedro Sánchez is acting ". The mayor explains that "the Municipal Health Services have continued to monitor the pandemic and the necessary actions to inform and control the behavior of citizens to contain the evolution of outbreaks.

Likewise, they are in permanent contact with the Autonomous Community to coordinate the actions that are being developed in our municipality ". It also recalls that, in collaboration with the epidemiology service, two doctors and two nurses have been assigned to the Covid tracker service, staff that is coordinated by the chief epidemiologist of the Health Services. "Through the Local Police, a monitoring of compliance with regulations is being carried out, such as the use of a mask, limitation of capacity and distances, as well as people and businesses that do not comply with the law are being punished", adds the municipal responsible for Health, who reports that "since July 18, 2,174 people have been sanctioned for not using the mask and a file has been opened to 28 locals for non-compliance with the regulations, such as the limit of capacity and hours closing ". The mayor also highlights the work being done by Social Services, "providing help to people who are in quarantine, with the provision of food or other necessary services." "The first proposal of the socialist municipal group on the pandemic came in June, when this Consistory was working since before the state of alarm, with the Health Committee convened since March 6.

We do not know if Serrano was on vacation and was has now incorporated or has been on layoff since the beginning of the legislature, "says Coello. "In case you have not found out, I inform Mr.

Serrano that the Socialist Government of Spain has stolen from the municipalities more than 16,000 million euros with which to face the consequences of the pandemic.

I also remind him that his colleagues parties from Madrid have been unable to adequately inform Spaniards of the evolution of the pandemic and all that with a PSOE president on vacation in the Canary Islands, "the mayor highlights. The councilor recalls that "the City Council recently approved the Economic Reactivation and Social Support Plan, with a high level of execution, with which all aid and assistance measures are being developed for the most vulnerable residents of our municipality." He assures that "this Consistory already anticipated the start of the pandemic with a special coordination device that, together with citizen collaboration, has allowed the containment of the pandemic in the municipality of Murcia with transparent and agile information for all residents.

The device has been maintained over time, coordinated by the Municipal Health Services, addressing actions to prevent the increase in Covid cases in our city.

" "The socialist group has gone from ignoring the pandemic and hiding the data at the national level to wanting to generate a state of alarm and social insecurity in the municipality of Murcia.

Serrano is seriously irresponsible with this attitude." "Citizens should know that the City Council will exercise its powers at all times with absolute responsibility because, as it has already shown, the health of Murcia is above any political approach," he concludes.
