The City Council recovers the Río Ebro de La Ñora park, a 1,300 m2 family leisure area for all ages (11/08/2020)

| The garden has more modern and safe children's games, based on motifs of the sea, as well as a new area for calisthenics for outdoor sports | The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the councilor for Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, José Guillén, and the councilor for Barrios and Pedanías, Marco Antonio Fernández, visited the garden on Río Ebro de La Ñora street, of more than 1,300 square meters, which has been completely renovated and opens with safer and more modern children's games, as well as a new calisthenics area for practicing outdoor sports."We continue working to improve the quality of life of the residents of our neighborhoods and districts with actions like this one, enabling a leisure and sports space that stands out for its urban quality, an action that will directly benefit the 5,082 residents of La Ñora" , highlighted José Ballesta, who added that "they will be able to enjoy a renewed family meeting and socialization point".Specifically, the City Council has acted on an area of ??almost 600 square meters of the total area of ??the park.Modern and safe games with sea motifsThe actions that have been carried out have consisted of the consolidation of a space to carry out outdoor activities, regrouping and installing new, more modern, safe children's games, adapted to children with disabilities, which display motifs of the sea, such as a seesaw in shaped like a crab, another shaped like a whale, a castle that simulates a lighthouse, etc.The City Council has also renovated the irrigation network and urban furniture, and new bins have been installed.New calisthenics area for practicing outdoor sportsSpecifically, two new children's play areas have been differentiated, one for children between 3 and 12 years old and another with calisthenics elements, for those over 14 years old.

The City Council has allocated an investment of 56,384 euros to this project, which is part of the Plan for the remodeling of children's areas', promoted through the Department of Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration.Forest Plan 2030The park has 42 trees, among which the jacarandas and mulberry trees predominate, which provide natural shade, and 5 palm trees.

The City Council has created two new bush areas in this environment, which has a 400 square meter grass meadow, an action that is part of the City Council's Forest Plan 2030, "with which we are going to double the number of trees in the municipality, reaching the 200,000 copies ”, indicated the Murcian councilor.Likewise, maintenance and pruning of the existing trees have been carried out.Information campaign with posters that indicate the capacityThe Consistory has deployed an information campaign both in the children's areas and in the gymnastics equipment of the 600 parks in the Murcian neighborhoods and districts, among which is the park on Ebro de La Ñora street.These areas, which are open under all safety and hygiene protocols, have been marked with informational signs that indicate the capacity of each space - depending on the size of the park - and the safety distance, among other indications.
