´MUDATAlab´ is born, a virtual space dedicated to historical and heritage museum research related to the municipality (07/08/2020)

| This laboratory, which is accessed from the website museodelaciudad.murcia.es, is a tool that encompasses the different facets in which the museum dedicates its efforts to cultural creation | The Councilor for Culture and Heritage Recovery, Jesús Pacheco, presented this morning the 'MUDATAlab' project, which aims to produce, disseminate and support research in humanities and cultural heritage, related to the municipality of Murcia."The promotion of open data and the reuse of information in culture is an aspect in clear development and the museum is committed to R + D + I processes.

Thus, we will collect in this laboratory the contributions and cultural information that are they have dealt with the different activities organized by the museum, grouping them in this line of work and offering them to the rest of the public ", Pacheco indicated.This laboratory is a tool that encompasses the different facets in which the museum dedicates its cultural creation effortsLikewise, the new 'MUDATAlab' wants to promote and facilitate the information access and reuse policies that define movements such as Open Data and Open Science, and institutional transparency practices."The COVID-19 pandemic has made us see that it is necessary to promote another way of consuming culture, which is why within our new cultural model we give great importance to digital content," explained the councilor.Its main lines of action are the following:- Adalid Program.

It began in 2010.

It is an open and participatory research process around the history and cultural heritage of the municipality of Murcia.

It is the communication tool between citizens and the museum, in matters that are difficult to solve by other means.

The resolution of queries through this tool generates very valuable feedback between the museum and Murcian society.- Coffee with text program.

2013 began.

It consists of monthly workshops for cultural dissemination and participation, based on the shared reading and analysis of scientific texts of a historical, archaeological, anthropological or artistic nature.

Due to the success of this program, in recent editions the monthly sessions have doubled.- Training program in Paleography.

It started in 2016.

It is a summer workshop, in which the transmission and analysis of historical data offered by ancient documentation is carried out by learning the palaeographic technique.

This tool facilitates access to documentation in historical and patrimonial research, which makes the quality of these works increase exponentially.

The fourth edition, to be held from August 17 to 28, has already filled its capacity.- Alarife program.

It is the tool for the production of cultural content for own projects and advice on the development of external cultural projects, such as the Cultural Reagents assigned to the museum.In addition, they are currently working on the creation of the magazine 'Çibdat de Murçia' which is based on scientific dissemination in humanities and cultural heritage.

Intended for researchers under the age of 35 who carry out work on the history and heritage of the municipality of Murcia.
