The European Project Urbact Innovator begins in its second phase a consultation with the Local Police to introduce improvements in the service (06/08/2020)

| The Urban Agenda Department, through the European Programs Service, keeps the consultation period active until September 14 | The European Urbact Innovator Project, in which the Murcia City Council actively participates, has entered its second phase.

The Department of Urban Agenda and Open Government, through the European Programs Service, has launched a survey aimed at the Local Police.The objective of the initiative is to gather proposals from the workers of the police force to introduce internal improvements in their work.

The European Urbact Innovator Project complies with Strategic Objective number 10 of the Spanish Urban Agenda, focused on improving intervention and governance instruments.Collaboration between Urban Agenda and Citizen SecurityThe survey for the Local Police is active until September 14.

This process is the result of the collaboration that the departments of Urban Agenda and Citizen Security are maintaining, led by the councilors Mercedes Bernabé and Eduardo Martínez Oliva.The mayor Bernabé has explained that "this initiative will allow us to improve an essential service, such as that of the Local Police.

We consider it essential to collect the contributions of the officials to improve the Municipal Administration and the consultation that we have in progress will allow us to collect opinions and proposals very valuable to implement improvements in the police force.

"The second phase of the European Project Urbact Innovator has as its main purpose to innovate in the internal processes of municipal services through the ideas, projects and contributions made by the municipal officials themselves.Analysis of the proposals to determine their viabilityOnce the contributions have been collected during the consultation phase, the next step will be to bring together the local project working group, made up of municipal technicians from different services, who will analyze the proposals to determine their viability based on factors such as cost, time of realization and complexity, among others.

The proposal that obtains the highest score will be launched as a pilot experience within the City Council itself.The European Project Urbact Innovator offers municipal workers the opportunity to be the protagonists of participating in the innovation process of the Local Administration.This project is being developed jointly in several European cities, which follow the same work methodology.

The participating capitals, in addition to Murcia, are Porto, Rotterdam, Paris, Turin, Cluj and Veszprém.
