´Mayores Solidarios´ dedicates its newsletter to all the volunteers who make the project a reality (05/08/2020)

 This issue of the newsletter is dedicated to all volunteers who are an active part of this project in an altruistic and selfless way.

"Thanks for your participation, support and dedication, without them this initiative would not have been possible," said Councilor for the Elderly, Disability and Development Cooperation, Paqui Pérez.Among the contents of this semi-annual edition has been a small tribute to one of the partners of the San Antón Senior Center, a volunteer for this recently deceased program, Ignacio García, "for his great work and constant kindness", and a I especially remember his family, as well as a summary of the volunteer activities included in the "Mayores Solidarios" volunteer program.Since this project began in 2017, the number of activities related to sports and hiking, gastronomic dissemination, training and culture has increased.More than a dozen volunteers and almost 230 participants are the protagonists of this solidarity experience aimed at older people in the municipality's social centers, which includes, from visits to the city's museums and talks on the history of Spain and Murcia to various culinary and sports activities outdoors, where a team of volunteers designs the routes and routes to be followed by different trails and places in the municipality."Once again we appreciate the effort, perseverance and generosity of the volunteers who give life to this initiative that is gradually consolidating, despite the slowdown caused by the pandemic," said mayor Paqui Pérez.
