Councilor Carmen Fructuoso is working with Socialist Youths on a document that lists the purposes of access to employment and housing and reduces the digital divide, and which will be delivered to different groups to make contributions. The Municipal Socialist Group is working so that the more than 140,000 young people in the municipality have more and better opportunities.
If in the last ordinary plenary session of July, the councilor Carmen Fructuoso demanded that the City Council make available to this group homes to help their emancipation, in the previous one, on June, they asked for a Municipal Youth Plan.
The PP promised to convene in a short time a working table to advance the document and, however, not a single step has been taken. For this reason, the councilor, along with Socialist Youth in the municipality of Murcia, have been working on a draft of that Municipal Youth Plan in order to transfer it to associations and groups to obtain their opinion and contributions.
"It is clear that we cannot wait forever for the PP to fulfill what was promised and, of course, we are not going to be carried away by its passivity, so we have decided to take the initiative and open this first draft to everyone who has something to say , including other political formations.
At the moment, we have a starting draft ", explains Fructuoso. It also notes that Zaragoza, Malaga, Madrid, Barcelona and Seville are some of the municipalities that have a Youth Plan.
"Murcia cannot be less, because its young people are no less than anyone, especially when we are witnessing a social and economic situation that especially affects this group." For this reason, the Plan includes areas of employment, housing, education, transport, health, administration, migration, associationism, free time, gender violence and LGTBI. The objective, according to the socialist councilor, is to promote the creation of a specific job bank for young people, creating a bonus for companies that hire them.
Also, the development of public housing parks is intended to facilitate emancipation (as approved in the last plenary session at the proposal of the PSOE) and the elaboration of a plan to combat the digital divide that ensures that all students have the necessary resources to continue their training electronically and under equal conditions.
Other purposes of this Youth Plan are improvements in public transport so that young people can travel to university campuses at the busiest hours, thus avoiding frequent crowds,and the promotion of participation in artistic and sports activities in neighborhoods and districts.
