We can take to plenary session the lack of a roadmap for the start of the school year (29/07/2020)

The councilors of Podemos in the Murcia City Council will focus their motions for the July Plenary session on conciliation, education and co-responsibility in care to confirm the importance of caring for and respecting families after the Covid crisis19. The spokesman for Podemos in the Murcia City Council will present this Thursday in plenary a motion to focus on the lack of a road map and a plan to return to school.

Ginés Ruiz Maciá will defend before the municipal corporation the need for the Ministry of Education to prepare a "back to school safely and with the necessary means to guarantee the health of the students and their families." The councilor of the purple training considers it essential that the council and counseling work hand in hand so that the centers "are prepared and meet the necessary requirements so as not to put students at risk." Ruiz Maciá will thus urge the Plenary to agree that the government team work with the Ministry of Education to increase the number of dining places in order to facilitate conciliation for families.

Also, that the council is in charge of developing a plan with the municipal boards aimed at guaranteeing hygiene in schools and study rooms.

For all this, it will also be necessary for the counseling to increase the staff so that in the sections where schoolchildren have less autonomy, they are properly attended.

Finally, Ruiz Maciá will ask the local government to prepare a plan to return to after-school and morning classrooms, in conjunction with the municipality's AMPAS, in order to guarantee reconciliation again. On the other hand, the mayor Clara Martínez Baeza will take to the July plenary session a second motion that has co-responsibility and care as protagonists.

After the months of confinement and teleworking, according to Martínez Baeza, the need to open the debate on conciliation and the distribution of tasks has been confirmed, since, in her opinion, care has fallen again, mostly, on women.

"We have already been carrying very important structural deficiencies in the care system, which are evidenced through the observation of the feminization of poverty, precarious employment in terms of partiality, the benefit and salary gap, and the reduction of day ".

For this reason, the councilor of Podemos in the Murcia City Council will urge the Plenary this Thursday to "agree on the creation and immediate start-up of an urgent workspace in terms of conciliation and co-responsibility.

" This situation also forces us to remember the need to increase the number of places from 0 to 3 years throughout the municipality so that "the administration assumes the need to help and improve the conditions of the families." In addition, to compensate for these months of confinement in which fathers and mothers have been forced to hire help to be able to care for their sons and daughters, the motion presented by Martínez Baeza will ask the municipal corporation to agree on financial aid that can alleviate to a greater or lesser extent the losses caused by the closure of schools.
