The new phase of projection of the Urban DNA Santa Eulalia begins (28/07/2020)

Councilor Jesús Pacheco announces that 'La mudanza' will return to Plaza de Santa Eulalia next September and that the illustrations in the book 'Cuentos para murcianicas' will star in the new exhibition at the Palacio de Santa Quiteria, which will be released in AugustThe Urban DNA project of Santa Eulalia reaches its projection phase, in which the Murcia City Council gives the baton to the associations and groups in the neighborhood to give continuity to the projects launched. For this reason, the councilor for Culture and Heritage Recovery, Jesús Pacheco, held a meeting yesterday with different groups in the neighborhood in order to continue establishing regeneration and revitalization strategies in this area.In this way, Pacheco has announced to residents and associations that the exhibition of the Palacio Santa Quiteria will be renewed at the end of next August, while La Mudanza will return to the Plaza de Santa Eulalia in September. Thus, the windows of the Palacio de Santa Quiteria will be adorned with illustrations of women from the book 'Cuentos para Murcianicas', produced by Paparajote Factory. This open-air museum, which was born thanks to the DNA Urbano neighborhood participation project, has made it possible to offer a new artistic space through its 14 windows and improve the aesthetics of these neighborhood streets.Likewise, next September, the Plaza de Santa Eulalia 'La mudanza' will return, an artistic meeting in which different disciplines such as painting, photography, sculpture, illustration ...In this event, which will take place with all the necessary measures and protocols to guarantee safety, the exhibition, promotion and dissemination of the works of Murcian artists is combined, also being a day of coexistence between artists and art lovers. In its last edition, more than 150 artists gathered, thus tripling its initial participation figure.Change in the management of the Urban GardenThe residents and groups of the neighborhood proposed, for their part, a change of management of the Urban Garden of Santa Eulalia so that it remains open throughout the day, thus allowing its use by all interested parties. This space was created as an intergenerational and multicultural meeting place where different crops are carried out by the neighbors, on a plot of land temporarily assigned for such use by its owner.

The project encompasses a neighborhood space focused on coexistence, participation, creativity and cultural and social development.Pacheco has indicated that "all these actions are carried out thanks to the Urban DNA project thanks to which the renovation and social activation of different neighborhoods of the city has been developed, a common point where we can bring public resources closer to the service of real needs neighbors and merchants "
