Fundación Secretariado Gitano works with 90 people at risk of social exclusion to promote their job placement (18/07/2020)

| The 'Currélatelo Murcia 2020' program focuses on improving the employability levels of the participants | The Fundación Secretariado Gitano is developing the program entitled 'Currélatelo Murcia 2020', in which 90 people who are at risk of social exclusion participate.The Murcia City Council, through the Department of Social and Family Rights, which the mayor Pilar Torres directs, promotes this activity with the transfer of the facilities where the workshops take place, such as the Espinardo social center, whose group of work visited councilor Torres.

The project is also underway in Murcia and Cabezo de Torres.Small groups and social distancingParticipants attend classes in small groups to promote social distancing and avoid cases of contagion due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In the classrooms all the hygiene recommendations transferred by the health authorities are respected.

The facilities are cleaned and disinfected daily.The councilor for Social Rights, Pilar Torres, stressed that "this project is one of the many lines of action that we promote from the Government Team to help the neediest citizens improve their situation.

In this case, we try to offer the best tools for the effective entry into the labor market of the participants ".The main objective of this program is for the 90 users to improve their levels of employability so that they are easier to include in the labor market.

For this, various training itineraries are developed aimed at the social and labor insertion of students.Promotion of equal opportunitiesThe approach to the labor market of the participants is also intended to be achieved through a job of labor intermediation carried out by the teachers and which is one of the fundamental actions of the program and which advocates effective equality of opportunities.The methodology that this plan follows is individualized and is integrated and coordinated with the different agents in the territory.

'Currélatelo' aims to offer the best inclusion tools to promote the training of participants and, in this way, boost their entry into the job market.This project represents the social work carried out by the Murcia City Council and the coordination maintained by the Government Team with third sector entities.Attention to vulnerable minorsThis summer the Department of Social Rights has launched, among others, a conciliation program that takes place in the Juan Carlos I center in Murcia, project 13-17, which is underway in a dozen districts and another plan for performance that works with fifty children from the Los Rosales neighborhood of El Palmar.

In total, some 300 children and adolescents are cared for.
