The Cooperation Council approves the call for cooperation and education and awareness projects for this year (17/07/2020)

| For cooperation projects a total of 349,623 euros is allocated; and € 30,000 for education and awareness | The Municipal Council for Cooperation and Solidarity chaired by Councilor Paqui Pérez today gave the go-ahead to the approval of the regulatory norms of the call for cooperation and education and awareness projects for the development of the year 2020.

For projects for cooperation a total of 349,623 euros is allocated; and € 30,000 for education and awareness.For the granting of subsidies for the execution of cooperation projects, there will be a few priority geographical areas, classified by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) or in the list of countries of the Development Assistance Committee (DAC) of beneficiary countries of ODA (Official Development Assistance).Regarding sectoral priorities, those cooperation projects whose objectives contribute to the achievement and fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will be taken into account, and those that promote cooperation actions focused on educational or health areas or lines will be especially valued.

human rights, participation and social promotion, production, infrastructure, environment, governance, empowerment of women, gender equality, food security, Education for Development (EPD) and temporary reception of minors from developing countries.Likewise, those transversal aspects of the projects that contribute to the promotion of gender equality, human rights and respect for the environment will be valued.Applicant entities may submit applications for grants to execute development cooperation projects and awareness and education for development projects, non-profit organizations, institutions, foundations and non-governmental development associations, legally constituted individually or associated with organizations in developing countries, with a local establishment in the municipality of Murcia.The deadline for submitting applications will begin after the publication in the BORM of the regulatory standards approved by the Governing Board of the Murcia City Council.The mayor, Disability and Development Cooperation has highlighted "the commitment and commitment of the Murcia City Council to maintain this type of aid that contributes to the progress of vulnerable groups in regions and municipalities of developing countries, especially at the moment of uncertainty and concern derived from the COVID-19 pandemic.
