The residents of Barriomar will have a new 200-m2 tented playground (14/07/2020)

It has a sandbox, various skill or climbing games, as well as two micro-perforated awning structures, framed in the Shadow Plan.Renovation of the Azalea GardenThese improvements are in addition to those that are also being carried out in the children's play areas of the Azalea Garden, where the existing children's games are going to be replaced, the perimeter fencing, which will become metallic, and will also be place micro-perforated awnings so that these spaces can be used by the little ones at any time of the day.The objective is to create shaded spaces that make them more comfortable, protecting residents from inclement sunlight, in neighborhoods and districts, thus facilitating family reunion, citizen participation and sociocultural meetings, in addition to increasing the number of effective hours of use by Murcian families.These actions are part of the Shadow Plan with which it is intended to install more than 160 new tents and shading systems, 50 of them are already a reality, distributed in the parks of Murcia and its districts so that families can enjoy these new spaces At any time of year.The new rubber of the Azalea Garden creates an environment free of contaminationThe installed rubber is manufactured from crushed pneumatic rubber that transforms nitrous oxide gases into non-harmful substances, creating environments free of contamination."These works mean improving the safety of the little ones, which is our priority and having more cared and conditioned spaces so that Murcian families can enjoy them with all the guarantees and improving their quality of life," explained José Guillén.The rubber used is manufactured from crushed tire rubber, and is applied to the surface with a photo catalytic agent, converting solar energy into chemical energy, reducing nitrous oxide gases from the combustion of motor vehicles.

This action is part of the Murcia SmartCity strategic project and is aligned with the municipal Clean Air strategy.Barriomar will improve its new green areas with the urbanization of the land where 'La Molinera' was locatedThe new residential will represent an important commitment to the regeneration and potential of the neighborhood, providing it with more green areas and making it a safe, pleasant and accessible place.Barriomar will improve its green spaces and will have new children's areas with the implementation of the definitive urbanization of the environment, specifically where the 'La Molinera' land was located, between the neighborhood and access to the motorway from the Alcantarilla highway.With the implementation of the urbanization, the construction of 222 homes is planned.

The actions have started with the construction of two access streets, which will allow a reorganization of this important space that will connect Barriomar with the center and the great western park of the city, of about 200,000 m2. Specifically, in coordination with the City Council and the promoter of the action, the environment between the Alcantarilla road and the river mota will be improved with the expansion of new green areas, the planting of new trees, the construction of a bicycle lane and a pedestrian route that will connect Barriomar with the city center through the footbridge of the Artillery barracks and the River Walk.The new residential will be carried out in three phases and will represent an important commitment to the regeneration and potential of the neighborhood, providing it with more green areas and making it a safe, pleasant and accessible place.Murcia Río will join BarriomarAmong the planned actions, the creation of new footbridges that connect both banks of the river along the route stand out, facilitating the connection between the neighbors.

In this sense, the City Council has proposed the implementation of three pedestrian bridges:-Murcia Parque - Water Museum.-Jardín Soto - Artillery Barracks.-Garden of the Alameda - Barriomar.These bridges will have an important symbolic value, becoming new urban references.
