This week these tasks are being carried out in the palm grove area of ??La Paz, where more than 200 palm trees have been pruned and treated. The pruning tasks, in Phoenix dactylifera palm trees, are performed before the treatments, to reduce the problems caused by their fruits such as dirt, slips of pedestrians, red palm weevil, as well as greater stylization and beauty of these sky giants. The pruning actions have been carried out for several weeks under the supervision of a technician specialized in large specimens.

In addition, during these tasks, it has also been inspected if any of these palms was affected by the so-called red palm weevil. In order to carry out a correct pruning at the highest of these specimens, both lifting baskets and the climbing system are used, without any of these means causing any harm to the specimens."Our green areas, parks and gardens of the municipality have to be in perfect condition so that the neighbors can enjoy them at any time of the year.

They become meeting and leisure spaces and have to guarantee the safety of young and old who walk through them every day "highlighted José GuillénMore than 15,000 palm trees are reviewed and pruned in the municipality of Murcia so that they shine in all their splendorThese works consist of eliminating the dry palms, as well as the fruits that may fall onto the public highway and pose a nuisance to pedestrians.

They are being carried out by several teams made up of more than a dozen people, and which are scheduled to last until next November.Although the work will be carried out throughout the municipality of Murcia, some of the places where there is a greater concentration of palm trees are the Palm Grove of Santiago and Zaraiche, Lobosillo, among others."During these months the pruning of one of the most notable elements of green areas, palm trees, is being carried out.

They are unique trees in the history of Murcia and the objective of this action is to guarantee the correct development of palm trees and the safety of the residents of the municipality, which is our priority "José Guillén has highlighted.20 meter palm trees The palms, of the species Phoenix canariensis and Phoenix dactylífera, as well as Washingtonia, are being pruned by professionals who have all the necessary security measures for carrying out these tasks and complying with the strictest regulations on the prevention of occupational hazards. The palm trees are, for the most part, very large, reaching between 15 and 20 meters high, for which numerous human and material means are being used, such as a fortnight palm trees, an octopus truck, as well as a lifting basket.Specifically, the ascent to the palm trees will be carried out using the rope and safety harness system. Special attention is also paid to other trees in the municipality, specifically those named as singular.

These inspections are carried out by external specialists and municipal technicians, who pay special attention to the heat waves suffered by the municipality, since the high temperatures affect the trees, specifically the ficus due to their large size.In addition, there are 70 sensors installed in different ficus that increase security controls reporting humidity in the tree environment, temperature, irrigation, soil moisture, as well as foliar.
