The City Council's Transparency Plan speeds up responses to citizens' requests for information (07/07/2020)

| The City Council has handled a total of 51 requests from January to June 2020, of which 43 are resolved and 8 are pending | The Transparency Plan of the Murcia City Council accelerates responses to requests for information from citizens.

Thus, the City Council has resolved 85% of the requests for public information received so far this year.Specifically, a total of 51 have been managed in the first six months of 2020, of which 43 are resolved and the remaining 8 are pending. The petitions deal with matters pertaining to the different municipal services, such as heritage, mobility, civil engineering, decentralization, vegetable garden, accounting, European programs, parks and gardens, public lighting, licenses or personnel.These data refer to the writings belonging to the first semester of the year, that is, from January to June, and which will be published soon on the Transparency Portal of the Murcia City Council, as indicated in section 80 belonging to the area of ??Law of Access to information."Like every end of the semester, we inform citizens of the requests for information required, whose resolutions have been affected this year by the situation of Covid-19 due to the paralysis of administrative processes," explains Mercedes Bernabé.Working in transparency since 2011The City Council launched the Municipal Activity Information Office in 2011, following the indicators established by the non-governmental organization 'Transparency International' (IT) and in order to guarantee citizens' access to municipal information.Likewise, in October 2017 the Transparency Ordinance was approved, which regulates the different actions that the City Council carries out so that Murcians can know in detail, through accessible means, the management carried out in the municipality.In relation to the regulations, among the actions, the creation of the Transparency Portal stands out, a publication system on the Murcia.es website, in the municipal transparency category, where institutional and organizational, legal, economic and budgetary, environmental information is provided.

In total, the 110 largest local governments in Spain were evaluated.On the other hand, in the area of ??active transparency and information on the Municipal Corporation, Murcia obtained a score of 97.6 out of 100.
