A commission made up of various public and private groups will draft the first Municipal Development Cooperation Plan (03/07/2020)

| During the celebration of the Council for Cooperation and Solidarity, the call for humanitarian aid for 2020 has been approved | The Municipal Council for Development Cooperation chaired by Councilor Paqui Pérez has proposed the creation of a commission to draft the first Municipal Plan for Development Cooperation, which would be made up of members of the third sector, experts in development cooperation, universities, unions, employers and political groups, to which citizen contributions will be added.The main lines of action that this document will contemplate regarding development cooperation are initiatives related to basic infrastructures in developing countries that improve the quality of life of the population (schools, health centers, water wells, among others), as well as education and awareness projects for development, the objective of which is to make the citizens of the municipality aware of the needs of developing countries, through talks in schools, seminars, workshops and through the NGO, s involved.The third of the lines covered by the plan are humanitarian aid aimed at alleviating emergency situations that occur in developing countries as a consequence of adverse weather events.For the responsible mayor, Paqui Pérez, one of the basic aspects of the future Municipal Cooperation Plan is the medium and long-term planning of the actions to be carried out, as well as the inclusion of a financing plan that includes the budgetary items that will be allocated, annually, to each of the projects in the areas of cooperation, education and awareness, and humanitarian aid."This is a document that will allow us to establish a multi-year execution schedule and an execution budget for the entire term of the contracts," stressed the councilor for Seniors, Disability and Development Cooperation.During the celebration of the Council for Cooperation and Solidarity, the call for humanitarian aid for 2020, worth 64,623 euros, has also been given the green light, which will have to be approved by the Governing Board.
