Murcia joins the amendments for the State to finance the provision of the Minimum Vital Income (30/06/2020)

The Governing Board of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces approves the request for three funds for local entities: an Economic and Social Recovery Fund worth 5,000 million euros; that of public transport worth 1,000 million for bus and tram; and that of the Minimum Vital Income. The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, reported today after the Government Board of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces was held that they have approved the document that includes the request for three funds from the Government of Spain: a Local Fund for Promotion and Economic and Social Recovery for a value of 5,000 million euros, a specific fund for the support of collective public transport (worth 1,000 million for bus and tram, and 725 for the subway) and a third fund, the Minimum Life Income. In this last aspect, José Ballesta has reported that to strengthen this fund, several amendments have been approved to the bill that establishes the Minimum Life Income, which will be transferred to the different parliamentary groups of the Congress of Deputies, so that the The State pays the City Councils the actual expense involved in the provision and management of the Minimum Vital Income by the Local Administrations.José Ballesta assured that “we are facing an issue of responsibility and honesty with the neighbors who are having the worst of it, in which there is no room for solidarity competitions or the careers of those who believe most in social justice.

We are all involved in the same project.

It is a social commitment of all the administrations to which we are all called from the scope of our responsibilities ”.Unanimously, the members of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces consider that the financing of the expenses derived from the management of the Minimum Vital Income that may be developed by local entities should be financed entirely through their own economic Fund for the management of the Local Entities of the Minimum Vital Income, which must be budgeted for all the years of validity of the agreements that are signed.Through this fund, the National Institute of Social Security will pay annually to the local entities that adhere to the agreements all the expenses they have incurred, once they have been remitted to them.
