| New elements of children's entertainment and more green areas are some of the elements that give life to this renewed space in the heart of the city | The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the councilor for Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, José Guillén, visited this morning the Garden of Fame, which premieres two 1,000 m2 children's areas in this central green setting integrated into the pedestrian axis Alfonso X El Sabio.This renovated space opens this weekend to Murcian families with numerous elements of children's leisure, new shady spaces, as well as plantations and green areas; a reference space in the heart of the city that has also undergone the necessary hygiene and safety protocols.“We opened the Garden of Fame for Murcian families, an area of ??1,000 m2 with two large children's areas that connect to the healthy axis of Alfonso X, giving continuity to this 15,000 m2 pedestrian avenue and joining the more than 50,000 m2 pedestrian that we have already opened for Murcia ", highlighted José Ballesta, who added that" the reopening of the children's areas of the municipality, equipped with more than 3,000 elements of play, is one more step in the recovery of normality and the rhythm of the city, from individual and collective responsibility ”.The City Council has allocated an investment of 412,000 euros to the renovation of this park, where the works in the children's play areas have already been completed, and where the municipal operators are working on the renovation of the urban furniture and the canine area, as well as in the renewal of the irrigation system and replacement of plants -powering the landscaped areas-.From Murcia Río to La Circular, a pedestrian axis of 50,000 m2The Garden of Fame joins the 50,000-square-meter pedestrian axis that starts from the Segura river bed - under the Murcia Río project - and extends through the historic center of Murcia, crossing Plaza Belluga, Calle Trapería , the Plaza de Santo Domingo, Avenida Alfonso X and the Plaza Circular.Climbing games, mats and geometric structuresOn the one hand, families will be able to enjoy in the Garden of Fame (also known as Los Perros) a children's play area for children between the ages of 1 and 12, which has colorful geometric figures on which to climb and a labyrinth, among other elements.
On the other hand, the park has a 'playground', made up of mats, a slide, nets and balance games, among others.Reopening of the 600 parks and gardens of the municipalityAfter the end of the state of alarm, the Town Hall has reopened the 600 parks in the neighborhoods and districts of Murcia, and has launched an information campaign both in children's areas and calisthenics and geronto-gymnastics.These areas, which are reopening under all safety and hygiene protocols, have been marked with informative signs that indicate the capacity of each space - depending on the size of the park - and the safety distance, among other indications.
