More than 200 flowerpots with 30,000 flowers decorate the streets of Murcia (24/06/2020)

| The flowerpots, which have been repaired and painted, are resin and iron planters, in which eugenias and nolinas are being planted | The Murcia City Council, through the Department of Urban Development and Administration Modernization led by José Guillén, has installed more than 200 planter boxes with more than 30,000 flowers in the streets of Murcia.The flower pots, which have been repaired and painted, are resin and iron planters, with eugenics and nolinas.Specifically, these actions have been carried out on the Alfonso X promenade, the Santo Domingo square, Pérez Casas, the La Fama garden, the surroundings of the Cathedral, the Los Apóstoles square, the Platería and Trapería streets, with their adjacent ones, as well as the Circular square and the Romea."Murcia is spring, so having supports where plants grow in perfect condition is a priority for Murcians to enjoy a well-kept municipality, full of colors and thus improve their quality of life," said José Guillén.The City Council injects a dose of color with the planting of more than 50,000 seasonal flowersThe Murcia City Council has produced more than 50,000 flower and shrub plants in the Mayayo Municipal Nursery, distributed among 30,000 geraniums, 16,000 dimorphotecas, 2,000 coleos and 2,000 alegrias.From last Christmas until the end of this year, a total of 150,000 plants of various plant species will have been produced.These plants are being placed in the districts of Murcia, as well as in the Glorieta, Circular Square, Camachos Square, Floridablanca Garden and the Malecon.

Various medians such as Pintor Sobejano, Primero de Mayo, Avenida de Los Pinos and Plano San Francisco and roundabouts such as Abenarabi are also being decorated.A social integration projectThe Mayayo Municipal Nursery is a clear example of teamwork and especially integration, as it has disabled staff hired by the Murcia City Council, as well as through agreements with CEOM in which numerous young people with intellectual disabilities work and learn.

In total 60 people have passed who have been trained under these guidelines."The people who help us in these jobs are participating in a project where they develop social integration and teamwork, in addition to training.

In addition, in these jobs they can have real contact with the world of work, learn a trade, in addition to suppose an important satisfaction of a job well done on a personal and professional level ", added José Guillén.
