The José Saramago Library resumes the face-to-face service with the loan and return of books (23/06/2020)

| A total of 17 branches of the Municipal Library Network of Murcia (RMBM) open to the public by appointment | The councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé, today visited the José Saramago Library in Murcia on the occasion of its reopening to the public in person through the book loan and return service."The facility resumes its activity with all the necessary guarantees and security measures," explains the mayor, "because we are referring to spaces that are heavily traveled by citizens, places of knowledge and learning, very close to users".With the reopening of this facility, the number of branches of the Municipal Library Network of Murcia (RMBM), which already provides face-to-face service, amounts to 17, in the absence of the La Alberca center, which will open its doors in the coming days.The José Saramago Library, like the other branches, resumes the activity to request and return loans, bibliographic and library information, as well as interlibrary loans.Collection of cards at the José Saramago LibraryFrom this headquarters and from Calle Amberes, you can also collect cards for access to the municipal study rooms.The cards are assigned to the requested room, but if you want to use it in some other it is not necessary to request a new one, but you must ask that it be activated also for the study room you are interested in by email or by phone.Quarantined books and a maximum of 10 documents on loanAll returned books, films and documents will be quarantined for 14 days in a space designated for this purpose, before they can be used again to avoid the slightest risk of contagion.As for the home loan service, it is maintained with a maximum of 10 documents, regardless of which the user returns and must remain in quarantine.

The loan term is extended to 28 days, renewable in the case of books.Likewise, it should be noted that the consultation in the room is temporarily suspended, even for the study, as well as the use of computers, a children's room and cultural activities.

For freely accessible collections, works will be requested from branch staff.AppointmentThe loan application will be made by appointment in order to avoid crowds and that the time spent in the Library is minimal.

This procedure will not be necessary for the return of the works loaned, but to request a new loan.The hours of operation will be from 9:00 a.m.

to 2:00 p.m.
