Solidarity fashion in Santa Eulalia to help families affected by the coronavirus (10/06/2020)

| Starts the third edition of the 'Santa Eulalia Fashion Market', which is held for the first time in a store format, adapting to the situation caused by the health crisis | The councilor for Social and Family Rights, Pilar Torres, attended this morning the opening of the solidarity market 'Santa Eulalia Fashion Market', which for the first time is held in store format in the chapel of San José, in the Church of Santa Eulalia, a space that has been conditioned to celebrate the event, complying with all the safety and hygiene protocols to prevent infections in the Covid-19 crisis."The solidarity and generosity of Murcians is once again evidenced by this initiative carried out by merchants and residents of the Santa Eulalia neighborhood, who have donated more than 2,000 kilos of clothing for the celebration of this solidarity market, whose benefits will go to families who are suffering the consequences of the health crisis caused by the coronavirus, "said mayor Torres.All proceeds from the market will go to people in the municipality who are at risk of social exclusion.The celebration of this event, which included an open-air market and a parade in which 10 Murcian designers were going to participate, was scheduled between March 13 and 15, but it was postponed due to the state of alarm decreed by the expansion of the coronavirus.Limited capacity and one-way tourThe entrance to the market is carried out following all the hygiene and safety protocols.

For this reason, a one-way route has been signposted that guarantees physical distance and a permanent capacity control is carried out.Shifts to access the chapel are made on a first-come, first-served basis, with a maximum of 15 people staying inside.At the market access, where a stall has been set up to dispense hydroalcoholic gel, masks and gloves are distributed to those who do not wear them.Morning and afternoon scheduleThe opening hours are from 11 am to 2 pm and from 5.30 pm to 9 pm.

Specifically, the opening of the market has taken place this morning and will remain active until June 13.

The environment in which it is held, in addition, has been decorated for the occasion, showing 300 plant pots that embellish the Santa Eulalia neighborhood.'Santa Eulalia Fashion Market' celebrates its third edition and is a commitment to young Murcian talent, a way for the dissemination of their work and to make their way in the world of fashion.The celebration of this event exemplifies the involvement of the municipal and district boards in the organization of events for social purposes.

The president of the Central East Municipal Board, Lorenzo Tomás Gabarrón, has organized, together with his team, the market.

The Santa Eulalia Parish has also collaborated.Documentary about the collections that were going to be presentedThe ten Murcian designers who were initially going to participate in the show are working on the recording of a documentary about their journey and references, which will also include the collections that they were going to present in the show.The artists have chosen emblematic spaces in Murcia to record the presentation of their collections, such as the Moneo Building, the Casino and the Post Market.

The presentation of the documentary is scheduled for September.
