Murcia City Council expands the residential areas of squares, parks and gardens with new urban furniture (03/06/2020)

| 400 new English bank units have already been installed, of which 250 correspond to districts of Murcia and 150 to neighborhoods | The Councilor for Urban Development, José Guillén, visited the Chinese Garden this morning to insitu insitu the furniture replacement works that are being carried out throughout the municipality.

This week, especially focused on the San Juan neighborhood. Specifically, 400 units have been replaced, of which 150 correspond to districts of Murcia and 250 to districts.

The new benches are of English model, characteristic for being of eucalyptus wood.Some of the places where they have already been renovated, coinciding with the areas most traveled by neighbors, are in districts, in the Maestro Ibarra garden in Patiño, Llano de Brujas, Constitución garden of Cabezo de Torres, Tomás and Valiente de Puente Tocinos.

They also already have this new furniture in Álvarez Quintero street, in the square of the Science Museum, Verdú Photographer walk and Triangular square in Santa María de Gracia.

Other neighborhoods where the new bench has been installed are the Carmen and Vistalegre neighborhoods.These improvements are going to achieve a better adaptation of the municipality's residential areas"We adapted the green areas to be meeting and gathering spaces for residents, as well as areas for resting, reading or relaxing outdoors.

They are spaces that contribute to improving the quality of life of Murcia" José Guillén highlighted.Disinfection of benches, gymnastic devices and children's games in the municipalitySpecifically, the Park and Garden Service works to disinfect daily the more than 12,000 banks that are used daily by Murcian families.The 3,000 children's games are also being disinfected to preserve the safety of the youngest members of the household and 759 gymnastic devices, distributed in 165 bio-healthy areas to reduce risks to the elderly.

"We have intensified the disinfection work in these spaces in order to guarantee the safety of the neighbors and that they are prepared for when they can be used 100% and with full guarantees," José Guillén reported.Street lighting cleans and disinfects nearly 100,000 lamp posts in the busiest areas of the municipalityThe Department of Urban Development launches a special device to act in these infrastructures in which six teams work, two of them with a large capacity tank."These actions are aimed at guaranteeing the maximum safety of the residents of the entire municipality and ensuring that the public spaces, through which hundreds of people pass each day, are in the best conditions" José Guillén stressed.These actions are being carried out in a total of 63 locations.
